What is the real truth to going to War in Iraq?

Was it oil? Empire? Human rights? The Israel Lobby?

Three years later, there's no clear reason why we invaded Iraq, much less any idea how we'll get out.
It is certainly true that Israel itself and its U.S. lobby, AIPAC, were pushing for war on Iraq, as indeed they are now against Iran. Ironically, while pro-Israeli pundits have lambasted the authors of a recent report on the Lobby for their "anti-Semitic" chutzpah in saying this, AIPAC's own website claims corralling Saddam Hussein as one its major aims and achievements.

There is the human rights excuse. While Saddam Hussein was indeed tyrant, he had been at his blood-thirstiest while he was a favored ally of London and Washington. And any demand for historical justice should be set in the context of complete inaction over East Timor in the past, or indeed relative sloth over Darfur now.

1. Oil, big oil and the ones who support them and fund them.

2. Energy companies, remember the closed door session on the energy policy with the Vice President authorized by the President, look at big oil, never under oath either.

3. The Israel Lobby, to have Israel become the main stay in the middle east, but heaven forbid they are actually fighting with their allies. Israel is not one bit better than the other countries over there, how come they cant get into the United Nations, are they not a state and what is a state. Have they ever violated UN Policies first? This includes the Empire point too. Are the Israelis goody to shoes? They are bullies and stingy and greedy, and think they are above anyone else but they are just as scummy as everyone else. Funny how they can get their b-i-t-c-h The United States to do their dirty work when they want it done, we do exactly what they wish, only question asked how high do we jump, and how many more weapons and money do you want us to give to you.

Officially, i dont know. However, oil did play a part-surprise (sarcasm). Maybe it wasnt a bad idea going into Iraq, either way, we are fighting the war like it is just a political issue, we need to fight war like a war. I think one thing that influenced Bush was the idea that China could come into Iraq and control the oil industry there. China is growing, and needs the fuel to grow. He is looking ahead, although the administration used lies and deciet to attack Iraq, which is inexcuseable. The Middle East is now what the Balkans were before WW1. We have to be careful there.

I hope you do not expect to get an un-biased answer here.

I think it was over Iraq attempting to sell oil in Euros whereas the US Dollar has always been the standard. This would have caused the collapse of the American dollar and would have made our economy a severe struggle to get back on its feet. Not that it couldn't be done, and probably a lot cheaper than what we have spent trying to win a so called 'war' on terrorism.

We may never know. What we do know though is that it wasn't for any of the reason the administration gave.

It may have been oil. It may have been for a strategic place to launch attacks against Iran. Or it could have been just sheer arrogance, ego, and pride. Perhaps in 50 years or so the records will be declassified and we will be able to see what really happened.

the actuality is GWB replaced into out of work contained in the White domicile and in some unspecified time sooner or later scrolling via warfare archives he chanced on Saddam and then he were given to wondering what if I placed the 911 attacks and few different terror attacks on Saddam and then take a fleet of my military and invade Iraq.ought to sense similar to Chris Columbus or Vasco DA Gama.the actuality in the back of Iraq is Bush isn't ending terrorism yet rekindling it.The empire state construction or the wtc has to come back right down to dirt and yet another 10 of 1000's of threat free human beings could free their lives because some previous hag (sorry for that,i recognize he's the president and all that yet I do in basic terms not see his nicely worth for that stature) replaced into jobless and wanted to make a extra physically powerful mark contained in the books of historic previous and he will bypass down in historic previous no longer as between the most excellent presidents of the USA yet as a guy who's positive to burn in hell for each and each of the sins.yeah there are different factors for him to invade Iraq - Oil,its aggressive neighbours whom bush has vowed to kill, raw funds, poorest of human beings........the record is going on.loot them and make the most them in basic terms the way the Brits had left many parts of the international to rot leaving them without leaders and persons starving ot deaths.GWB is the reincarnation of devil himself.

Mostly Big $$$ and Oil. That's why U.S. government keeps paying the terrorist groups money to keep doing what they do best because if they stopped the war would end and the there's no profit in that.

Greed by way of graft and corruption is the real truth of Bush invading Iraq. Now even the government leaders of Iraq are pocketing their share of the corruptions.

There certainly is a clear reason! We ousted a damn murdering dictator, thereby allowing the Iraqii people to know freedom. Unfortunately, the insurgents have proven to be a major surprise. Hopefully, the Iraqii government will grow in strength and the people will live that freedom.
