NASA is just sitting around doing nothing with manned space flight. They should spend the money to get our guys up to Mars. What do you think? Is spending the money worth it?

Manned space flight is the future whether we like it or not. As Stephen Hawking said, we are taking incredible risks by having all our eggs (humans) in one basket (Earth). People do not see the dangers because our planet feels like our whole universe. "Space" is separate, not part of our world, as far as most people are concerned.

We must ensure the survival of the human race, and the ONLY way to do that is manned space travel.

Unfortunately, democracy/mob rule does not deal in long term goals. Even more unfortunately, due to human nature, there is no better system than democracy that we have thought up so far.

Yes it is worth it.

The weightless or micro gravity environment allows us to conduct experiments that could never be conducted on earth. The whole world has benefited from space exploration more than anyone can measure. There is hardly a thing that you touch today that isn't in some way tied back to discoveries during space flight.

Those who say it is glorified stunt flying are nothing more than ignorant fools that haven't enough sense to walk around in public.

Manned space flight has never been a productive use of resources, it's just glorified stunt-flying.
