Ask me!

Most of us remember Nanci Pelosi & Harry Reid promised
to change America back in 2006 if elected....then they were elected

Democrats take Congress in Jan 2007

RESULTS: Recession begins December 2007 (just 11 Months)

Democrats/Obama Promise change & better days

Democrats take White House Jan 2009

Results: Recession becomes worse: They inherit a 7.2%
unemployment rate and bring it to 9.6% in just 7 Months

Quadruple The Debt in 60 Days.

Promise a 2 Trillion Healthcare program to cover 20 million
people with no way to pay for it.

Give $4500 of tax payers money to people to get them to buy a new car. Poorly ran with money running out and tax payers angry.

Threatening to raise everyone's energy taxes through a cap & trade bill that the President himself says will make the Americans peoples
electric bill to "Skyrocket".

President Obama has Promised NO new Taxes for anyone making
less than $250K or $200K or $175K depending who is speaking.

Bush still controlled the economy until January 20, 2009. Everything the Democrats did to fix the recession that began in the spring of 2001, and never really ended for the bottom 99 percent, was vetoed by Bush. The recession did not begin in late 2007, that's just when the filthy rich started to get scared, too.

We are still under Bush's last budget until September 30, 2009. Every job lost until that day is his fault and his alone.

Meanwhile, Obama stopped the Bush Recession from turning into a depression, and the stock market is way up again.

You're welcome.

Even though politicians like to talk about fixing the economy, the reality is that they typically have very little control over it. Regardless of what some people seem to think, president Obama has kept to the idea of a mostly self-regulating market so far, and so he hasn't really done any more than Bush did to control the economy. Whether you think this is a good thing or not depends on whether you support a free market system or one with more government regulation, but the truth is, the president can't destroy or fix the economy if they don't have much control at all over it.

Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans have any responsibility for the shape that the economy is in right now. If anyone does, it is the politicians who voted to deregulate the housing market in the 1990s, which was a largely bipartisan effort, involving fiscal conservatives and then-president Bill Clinton's 'new Democrats'. Removing regulations made to protect people probably wasn't a very good idea, but since no one has done anything to reverse that decision, and since people don't seem to want to protect themselves by not raising the median home price to $800,000, blaming any one group of people is just finger pointing.

So if it is a Democratic Congress it is their fault. If it a Dem. President it is his fault. If both are Dems the world is coming to an end.

What about when the Repubs take Congress back? (I'm willing to admit that will happen) Is it still gonna be Obama's fault?

I'll be the first one to say that inheriting a $1trillion deficit is in no way an excuse to triple it, but mindless bashing is pointless.

Lets see. Bush the first ran up a huge deficit. Clinton got rid of it. Bush the second ran up another one.

Obama has promised to deal with it. In time.

As long as people will allow Obama to blame Bush for everything from flat tires to the price of condoms he'll do it. He is back on the Bush attack now because it works when he wants to spend trillions more.

So far only the things that have been good. Many of those, of the few that are good, would probably have happened anyway.
