Affirmative Action - Obama Issues?

Why is Obama rated 100% by the NAACP, indicating a pro-affirmative-action stance (Dec 2006) ?

Maybe I'm not understanding something. I do not get the impression that Obama's stance would be in support of Affirmative Action. His stance would be in support equality for all races and his past record demonstrates that.

Affirmative Action is often coined "reverse discrimination" because affirmative action requires the very discrimination it is seeking to eliminate in order to work. This contradiction makes affirmative action counter-productive and against what Obama stands for. So why would the NAACP consider him 100% pro-affirmative-action?

Please answer honestly in regards to the framing of political issues and how one is determined for or against an issue.

well, there's a problem out there... statistically, minorities with the same education make less on average than whites...



and that's AFTER YEARS of affirmative action has been in place...



imagine how bad it would be if there wasn't any...



so, how do you fix it? Affirmative action is an attempt to do so, is it perfect, probably not...



but without it, the results would only be much worse...



it's kind of like the war on terror... do you like civilian casualties... no... but to you, they are an unfortunate side effect to what must be done to make a better world...



there's no perfect answer... and it certainly seems not having any program would be like saying "the terrorists will leave us alone if we leave them alone"... it's short sighted and not supported by the facts...

A A is not reversed discrimination,it is discrimination. it is degrading to people to use it,tells them they can't make it on their own. if we want a color blind society we have to treat all equal
