Question:
Is keeping Hollywood and the rest of pop culture a good way to be a happier person?

I no longer listen to any popular music; in fact, I am on a Mozart diet this month. I also got rid of TV, so no more sitcoms. As for movies, I am learning more about Japanese, Australian, Polish, Italian, and German cinema.

I just find that my brain seems less polluted.

Has anyone else tried this? Is getting rid of pop culture a boost for one's mental health?

You have successfully disconnected from the popular entertainment flood. I would offer my congratulations, but you've already reaped a wondrous benefit...a less cluttered mind. Way to go.

Its one way to disconnect from what is going on in the US. As long as you don't watch Fox News you should be ok.

Maybe it’s just that your brain needs a break from America?
