Sad, but true. The GOP and Blue Dog Dems are in the pockets of the for-profit insurance corporations. The other motive for the Republicans on this issue is that they are unwilling to help Americans as long as they block every proposal by the President and mainstream Dems. Every politician and all of their constituents should read the following:

What "insurance company" could be bigger than the Federal government? So you see, my dear yahoo, you, not I, are on the side of big insurance companies.
Rich people employ me

Do you mean that the insurance industry is simply reporting what the republicans have been trying to explain to you liberals for months? Yes, insurance premiums for those of us educated enough to work for companies who provide us coverage, will increase, once Obama forces us to pay for coverage for those of you, who chose not to educate yourselves and be marketable to big corporations.

That doesn't mean we are siding with them, and I totally agree with the guy pointing out how dramatic democrats are. That is why Hollywood loves the democratic party. The republican party isn't histrionic enough for them.

Imitated....you left out the statistic that the insurance lobbyists have donated 70% of their contributions to democrats, since the dems took control of congress. I wonder why you didn't mention that?

Both parties do this.

Obama's plan helps the insurance companies.

Not only with bis insurance, but with the Taliban! They both criticized the fact that President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Traitors!

What do you mean side with big insurance? According to Obama and the Democrats big insurance has nothing to fear, and that we will be able to keep our insurance companies and our doctors. Are you admitting that this is not the case now?

Once again Democrats side with big government. Is anyone surprised by this?

BTW do you realize that with the senate bills your insurance premiums are going to go up unless you are on the government option?

Do you realize that under the house plan, you may get a national sales tax?

Baucus is a democrat. He is the one selling us to the insurance companies.

It's not about big insurance, it's about big government, especially when it would give the government power it was never intended to have. Let me ask you a question, would you want the kind of health care that indians and vets get? The government screws everything up it touches, and then taxes us to death to trying to fix the screw-ups they cause.

pretty sure you have that backwards. The republicans are a LITTLE BIT more powerful than the insurance industry when it comes to the direction our country goes genius.

Your high premium dollars -> insurance companies -> insurance lobbyists -> Republican re-election coffers.

why are you focused with what the republicans do? or who they side with? i mean yeah they favor the rich and suck... but democrats arent much better. dont be so typical. think for yourself and dont be a party member.

lol thumbs down for saying think for yourself?

thats sad.

This is news?

The health care industry has spent *$300 million* on lobbying in the last six months!

No. They know where their money is. chuck grassley has been awarded $2.1 Million in contributions by the pharmaceutical industry during his career.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

The difference being that Big Business still requires you to buy their product. Big Government will just make you take it. You pay for it either way.

You can be a customer, or an expense....choose wisely.

I m okay with it,

as in, them cancelling their contract whenever they want

them denying me coverage on whatever they want

Sadly its more about money then it is anything else. Even tho, all i see is republicans, being a tool by big buisness in their quest for money.
2009-10-12 14:20:33 UTC
Big insurance wouldn't be "Big" Insurance without government help.

What we need is free market capitalism.
2009-10-12 14:20:53 UTC
We don't just side with insurance, but BIG insurance huh ? Liberals are so dramatic. God bless.
