http://www.roadmap.republicans.budget.house.gov/

I like the options given for social security to those under 55. Also, I liked the job training part.

Thanks,
Kala

Yes, I think it is a better plan, and NOW Obama is going to take a closer look. Maybe, the Party of No, is really the party that has better options.

The only way Obama will ever consider looking at this roadmap is if he thought it would fail. If he endorsed the roadmap and used it and it fails he could then blame the republicans. Oh, wait, he already does that. However, if he feels that the roadmap would be successful, then he will denounce it, describing it as irresponsible. This way, he portrays himself as if he is looking out for our best interests. Nothing will happen with this roadmap, not until 2012 that is.

Read through it. Same old Republican ideas, nothing new, nothing different. More tax breaks for higher income people, lower tax burdens on corporations, health care savings plans, state coop health plans. It is the same old thing that has been shown not to work time after time. When will Republicans try something other than the same tired old plan that Newt Gingrich proposed way back in his Contract With America. It is just a rewrite.

er... it's just throwing a ton of money at the problem?

tax credits for 2,500 for people to buy health care? where is that money coming from? how much will that cost? that's a tax CREDIT... that means that the 50 percent of America that currently doesn't pay taxes, will all get 2,500 in a check every year... right?... like a big welfare check...

I don't really get the SS plan... it mentions some sort of gov. employee savings plan that seems to be guaranteed? isn't that exactly what SS is, a gov. guaranteed saving program, just not for gov. employees? sounds like semantics?

I hope someone produces something better than the Dead End street we are presently going down.

There are many good ideas in the plan. Dems for the most part will only seriously consider any of them if Obama tells them to.

No I've a better idea, more along libertarian lines.
