Is College still the best way to go? Somebody help me?

So I'm a 19 year old male living in America. I'm going to a Community College (NOVA) but I'm starting off very slowly and I'm only taking two courses for 8 Weeks (English and History). The average student is supposed to take 4-5 courses. I start at October 19 and finish at December 19.

Anyway, I'm basically taking it very slowly and my parents say I can always take alternative courses if I feel college is not right for me. My goal is to transfer out to a university and maybe even get an Associates Degree at my Community College. But I have my subconscious worries...is College still the best way to go these days? What if it's not right for me? What are better alternatives? I want to get a good career and good pay...I've been considering the Military but I don't think I'm really physically capable (I'm kinda small for my age, around 5'6 tall and very light) but I heard the Air Force is less strainable.

Basically, I'm not pin-point on what I want to do with my life, or my strongest skills and traits. I also have no job and never had one and I have very little life experiences. I just stay at home all day on the computer doing not much...Help? Advice? Wisdom?

These days, and Arts degree means squat. You're better off finding a vocation that will never go out of style like...plumbing, electrician, auto mechanic, or exterminator. No matter what happens in any economy, people will ALWAYS need those services.

There are some real idiots at my work place who have 2 or 3 degrees and make $12 or $14 an hour. They are arrogant and think they are far above well educated and experienced seasoned workers who lost jobs due to the economy.

Get a 2 year degree. Figure out what you want to do. If you can get a job in your field while in school, then continue. If not, you might consider learning a craftsman type trade. Honestly.

I have a BA degree and it has worked out well for me,but if I had a son I would tell him to get a college education, but also learn a trade such as plumbing or electrician. Those are two skills that are always in demand. I live in the North East and the guys I know are still very busy and making good money. Skilled trades are always needed. Depending on your major you may not be working right now. Good luck.

The military will make a man out of you in my opinion. They will put weight on you and you will train to be physically fit. You will have opportunities to find out what your real interest are and you can go from there. I went into the AIr Force as an enlisted man and went to autopilot school and continued my education(college) while in and received an appointment to OTS. I became an officer and then on to flight school and spent 10 great years in. I wish I would have stayed in for the retirement but I got out and continued flying for a living until I opened my own company within the aviation industry. I have never looked back and I will retire within the next two years and then do what I have always wanted to do. Live on the lake, fish and drink rum/cokes all day! LOL!

Colleges are Liberal Marxist indoctrination centers.

I am currently studying at Beck University, with a double major in Freedom and 9/12 Mindset.

College graduates haven't been able to get jobs since the economy crashed, don't know when that will change.

It depends, what do you plan on studying if you were to go to a University?
