Question for LIBERALS - almost fifty Democrats crossed the aisle and voted against Cap and Trade...?

Could it be the bill was 1200 pages that no one had an opportunity to read?

Could it be that the bill was printed in the middle of the night, and the last 300 pages was inserted at 3AM the morning of the vote ?

Could it be there wasn't even a copy of the bill on the floor ?

Could it be no one could have possibly read when it came up for vote?

Could it be it will destroy America?

Just wondering liberals and Obama supporters, why is it that almost fifty Democrats crossed the aisle and voted AGAINST Cap and Trade?

It was strategic, not how they believed in their hearts. They voted nay in order to save their jobs come the 2010 elections, though they already knew the vote was a lock.

You really think they don't know the outcome before they cast their votes? How silly.

substitute is inevitable. Even without Obama. the worldwide has been changing for a protracted long term earlier Obama grew to become into even theory-approximately. He would not have a monopoly on substitute! The Republicans do not view government spending as a answer to the corporate climate interior the U.S. They see government as a results of fact the situation. exceedingly on account that we've a 35% company tax fee (the utmost of all industrialized international locations). The Republicans refused to vote for it as a results of fact their Amendments, that have been authorized in committee, weren't coated interior the purely precise bill. The Dems might have pleaded for bipartisanship yet have been unwilling to make even one compromise. No ask your self the Republicans voted against it. to respond to your question... confident i've got faith, wish and pray that the Republicans will proceed to oppose those Socialistic products of legislations. in the event that they had to make a quickly/great difference in our declining jobs industry they might easily decrease the corporate Tax fee to 20-5% and companies could be mountaineering the fences to get returned in and do company right here. Our government has been working our companies to China and Mexico for the previous sixteen years.

Local politics, particularly when you're dealing with House districts and Congressmen. If it isn't going to be popular in the district, they won't vote for it. You know, its a smaller geographic area with more consensus on these issues, and, you know, they're up for election every two years, as opposed to four or six, so people aren't exactly going to forget easily.

I'd be curious to look at the list of Democrats in the House who voted know, and see what part of the country they're from, because that would explain a lot.

But the main point is that it has a lot more to do with local politics.

Sorry to answer your question because Im not a Socialist, but you are correct. Makes you wonder about the obvious ones that vote for everything the party lead says.

Are you sure about your data. My television reported something different. The lengthy bill was about National Health care. I only saw the republicans whining because they had to read the whole thing when they wanted to surf the web for some hot Brazilian babes.

It was sleazy no doubt. All but 8 Republicans voted against it. Had the 8 stuck to their guns, it would;ve been defeated.

But as usual, a bunch of libs from New Jersey and California and Washington State screwed the rest of the country with their 8 votes.

The Rep from California (figures -- the home of fruits and nuts), gloated she could afford to vote for it because her district is literally "rich" in wind generaters and solar panels. Duh!! What about the District next door and all of your people losing their jobs NEXT DOOR. Just because they live in your district doesn't mean their job is somewhere else.

Congratulations morons, you just voted to tax America's yayas off.

I'm a moderate to conservative Obama supporter and I am glad to see valid opposition to some of his ideas.

Many of his ideas will work, many won't.

It's up to Congress to honestly judge and legislate to bring this country back to greatness.

BTW-VALID opposition, not ideological and political fear-mongering.

Didn't congress listen to their mothers when they were told that you never sign something without reading it first?

Oops, Pelosi told them to vote for this pile of crap/ob killer/economy killer bill and 219 idiots listen to her. Sorry, I forgot.

Maybe we should just do what Republicans do, call them DINOs and say our party would be better off without them.

Or maybe the Dems should just be proud to have a party that encourages a diversity of opinion and healthy debate.

There's no mystery. They EXPLAINED why they voted against it.

100% of Democrats support the bill, written by the Socialist International with the STATED purpose of decimating the American economy.

A few dozen of them got permission (literally) to vote against it so their constituents wouldn't fire them.
