Friends supporting BJP, I have read so many allegations from you folks against Congress on mishandling terrorism. What is your say only one term of NDA regime? I have some highlights of NDA regime and I did include only the high profile attacks, not the attacks that unfortunately happen every day in Kashmir and Naxal affected areas.

- 2000, Dec 22:Six Lashkar-e-Taiba militants sneak into the Red Fort and open indiscriminate firing on the guards of 7th Battallion of Rajputana Rifles killing three including a civilian.

- 2001, October 1: Attack on Jammu and Kashmir state assembly in Srinagar, killing 35 people and injuring 40 more.

- 2001, December 13, Attack on Indian parliament, 6 police, 1 civilian and 5 terrorists killed.

- 2002, January 22: Attack on American Center in Kolkata, killing five people.

- 2002, May 13: Islamic extremists cut the rails that caused twelve people are killed in the Jaunpur train crash.

- 2002, September 10: A train derailment kills 130 people in the Rafiganj rail disaster. Naxalite terrorism is suspected.

- 2002, September 25: Two terrorists belonging to the Jaish-e-Mohammed group raid the Akshardham temple complex in Ahmedabad, killing 30 people and injured several

- 2003, August 25, At least 48 people were killed and 150 injured in two blasts in south Mumbai – one near the Gateway of India at the other at the Zaveri Bazaar.

I am not including terrorists capturing our land resulting into Kargil war, or Indian Airlines Flight 814, because that are too big incidents.

How do you justify hugging the people responsible for attacking our parliament and red fort? How do you justify calling the very same people for Agra summit who were responsible for all these attacks? What was our internal security and what was our foreign policy?

Terrorism is neither linked to Congress nor BJP. It is Nations problem and both should fight together. Politicizing terrorism is a crime against the nation.

Looking at this question and the answers I feel we all are doing the same. If we are doing the same then why do we blame our political parties?

Neither Mr. LK Advani nor Mr. Shirraj Patil could stop terrorism, and at the moment there is an halt to the attacks but that is not because Mr. Chitambaram that could be the quite before the storm. I would think that problem is cured if there is no terrorist attacks in India for at least 5 years.

Be vigilant and help our intelegence agencies, pray god who ever you pray to, and that is what can stop terrorism.

Do not fight among ourselves, that is not going to solve the problem and for Nation's sake do not politicize terrorism.

"Let the world live in peace", though you are absolutely right, but you should visit this forum more regularly to make such comments. I think this question is raised to show mirror to BJP supporter. Though you are absolutely correct that terrorism is neither only Congress or BJP problem but a national problem and being national problem both the parties should fight it together. You visit this forum once in a while and then comment on us? That is not right.

But I was following up this question and enjoying seeing the frustration of BJP supporters. I was really reading how these folks are scratching their head. The master stock from MS, was the question to BJP supporters " I am accepting that Mr. Shiv Raj Patil was a failure as a Home Minister, is their any BJP supporter on this forum who dares to accept that their home Minister in NDA period Mr. L K Advani was a failure as Home Minister?"

I really want to see if their is a single BJP supporter who is really serious and would accept MS's challenge or they are only politicizing the issue.

Isn't it an interesting question? Lets see how much KALKATIYAA MIRCHI do we have on this forum?

The congress govt is favouring muslims. So it is not punishing terrorists. During NDA rule Afzal Guru was ordered to be hanged but the congress to please muslims is delaying his death punishment. The UPA also removed the strong POTA act made by the NDA govt.

I was reading somewhere that terrorists activities increased a little bit when NDA was in power because the separatists (read terrorists) are actually alarmed / wary of a govt. which is strongly nationalist.

This increases the backlash by terrorists.

Take the Afzal Guru case. Any sympathizer of Afzal Guru will be happy with the Congress govt. But they will want blood of BJP for continuously campaigning for hanging Afzal Guru.

Now if Afzal Guru be hanged there is chance of some group planning some counter-attack.Which will not happen in this case.

Or, the Batla House case. When Congress leaders themselves slam the police for doing their duty or Arjun Singh supports Jamia Milia's attempt to fund the defence of accused terrorists, do u think terrorists will not love it?

Terrorists also understand "dosti kaa paighum".

Kargil & Kandahar are also on same trends. It is across the border attempt to disrupt a govt. that they consider a threat.

This trend is seen in Israel also.

EDIT:

YESTERDAY WAS THE 20th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BEGINNING OF GENOCIDE AGAINST KASHMIRI PANDITS.

80,000 KASHMIRI PANDITS ARE LIVING IN EXILE IN DELHI.

THOUSANDS ARE VICTIMS OF ETHNIC CLEANSING.

DOES THE CONGRESS GOVT. CONSIDER THEM AS TERROR VICTIMS?

TAKE YOUR STATISTICS TO THESE PANDITS & LISTEN CAREFULLY WHAT THEY SAY.

It,s not the number game, but it should be the attitude towards Terrorists, which NDA was having upper hand with a law like POTA in it,s place.

The first thing UPA did after coming to power was to abolish POTA to appease Muslims(however it was naxalites which was booked more in no in the POTA law). And to it,s shame it re -instate it in another form, showing how much wrong was they in there approach towards containing terror.

Yes we still remember during the Delhi Blast our then Home minister Shivraj Patil was busy in changing his dress five times a day then to do any thing on terror.

And Congress does not have balls to even hang Afzal Guru the accuses in Parliament attack.Lack of POTA already have re;eased two accused from the charge of Red fort shoot out case..

When Delhi police kills terrorists in an encounter at Batala House, our beloved congress leader goes there for demand of an inquiry to appease Muslims. Is this how terrorists would be dealt???

You carry on i will add some more after some time, right now i,m busy somewhere.

Congratulations for wearing Congress Glasses on your eyes in your Yahoo Avatar :))You are going in right direction...

@ap it,s not the case of numbers that you kill the most or i killed the most,in the both case it,s the ordinary citizen who loses his life, what i,m telling is that UPA have a soft approach towards tackling terror then NDA .I,m amazed that there is a childish competition is going on that who has more blood on it,s hand BJP or Congress,no body is telling the real truth that whose govt approach was write to tackle terror. As far as my opinion is concerned here UPA is a total failure in it,s approach.Let,s see what Mr. chidambaram does now,i will wait for that.....

@MS Tada was lapsed because in 1995 because again due to a backlash from Muslims congress does not allow to renew it.TADA was eventually allowed to lapse in 1995 by the law comission of India.., and POTA comes in 2002 even then all secular parties made a Hue and cry over it because of Muslim vote bank..Then Law minister arun jaitly then called for a joint session of parliament to pass the bill(as BJP was in minority in the rajyasabha)...

@MS I think You should choose LET THE WORLD LIVE IN PEACE answer as the best one, although to me my answer also lies in that category, but you are not going to choose me i,m sure about that :)------------,EK BINA MANGI ADVICE :)

NDA don't like Islamic terrorism/jihad but love muslims.

Congress love vote bank.

Mumbai attack is above all terrorist attacks ,which was happened in Congress regime.Attitude of Sonia is questionable against terrorist, she have no courage to fight or take action against them.See your face in mirror ,it is real face of Congress !

@MS there is no comparison between Advani and idiot Shivraj Patil who always acquire the seat by "Chanchagiri" as like Jail Sing.He always poses himself as like doing modeling for seat before Sonia.

Afzal have arrested and all the terrorist have punished in the tenure of Advani ji a strong action had been taken by a Nationalist leader,Advani ji.

good job...this shows that bjp lies when it says that it is even half as equipped as the congress to handle terrorism...its not...infact..its antics in certain states will only provoke more people to resort to terrorism..which is bad but which is a fact..the bjp can only sit in the sidelines and pass comments and everything..hen the time comes for it to step up and lead and do work in the hot seat...it will lie and run for cover and make a fool of the country and itself..

someone mentioned afzal guru...

it took 7 years for indira gandhis assasins to be punished by law

its been 17 years but still 40 people accused in his assasination havent been brought to justice...its not because the congress is partial to these people..but because the justice system in our country is slow..but its efficient...i believe in it

UPA/congress, like its worst counterpart US government, while in power, creates and encourages all sorts of internal and external violent outfits like terrorists, naxals, maoists, extremists, missionaries, mullas etc., for making use of them when out of power, to disturb and destroy people, citing which to destabilize and dethrow the elected non-UPA/congress governments; after having plotted with LTTE for so many years to cause death and destruction every where around, how would one see the attitude of UPA/congress partner DMK in the same matter! the "killed by divine punishment" rajasekara reddy of UPA/congress used naxals/maoists to blast NDA/TDP chandrababu naidu's vehicle along with naidu ,in the same Tirumala Hill area, earlier! Dawud's kasab was contracted by UPA/congress, to sneak into Gujarat, to dethrow Modi, which is evident from the "son-in-law of sonia treatment" given to kasab. Sonia's home minister castigates Modi, for believing his own "intel inputs" to wipe out potential terrorists!, while the actual UPA/congress expectation is to ignore such inputs, leading to devastation, which Modi averted for his people.

So, bitter souls! realize sooner to avoid more disasters by UPA/congress.

Drawing a smaller line can't make the lengthy line shorter.

so, do you mean, there were no terrorist attacks during congress rule ?

I mean, what is the point in throwing stone at others, when you are in glass house.

just 8 incidents in which two of them are of kasmir and naxals, i can count you more than 18 terrorist incident in last UPA government which doesn't have any naxals and Kashmir incident.

@MS how do you justify sharm-e-shaikh blunder of prime minister? how do you justify on agreeing on Baluchistan issue in peace talk when we haven't done anything wrong there?how do u describe your foriegn policy and internal security now?also home minister of UPA at that time patil used to just change the clothes against media. if he had equally changed the policy of government at that time then i wouldn't be able to write such a long post.

edit @MS read the below site which shows the idea of Pakistan to link terrorist activities in Baluchistan is done with help of India.so it's a serious issue and without doing anything India would be labeled as a terrorist nation.Pakistan is doing this so that they can have upper hand on India after 26/11.

http://whirledview.typepad.com/whirledview/2009/08/what-pakistan-should-really-worry-about-in-balochistan.html

@MS again:

you claim that there is no BJP supporter to say advani was Bad Home minister but according to me he was good home minister because NDA government was able to stop the total disaster that terrorist have planned for people and not only that they were either able to caught them or kill them.but alas shivraj patil wasn't able to do this.he could neither stop terrorist to do terrorist activities nor he was able to caught them or kill them.shivraj patil has also removed the only law that was for terrorist and didn't made alternative of pota for 5 long years.so no chance of comparing advani with that pork shivraj patil.
