Question:
Why does Fox News insist that Fred Thompson won the S.C. GOP debate when their own poll says otherwise?

I'm watching the post-debate garbage on Fox News, Jan. 10.
Hannity & Colmes have interviewed every candidate except for Paul, who won the debate over Thompson by 11% according to their own poll. A panel of potential GOP voters at the Citadel in S.C. are prompted with leading questions such as: "Who thought Thompson won the debate?" and "How many thought Paul lost the debate?" Nearly everyone rose their hands to both questions. Immediately afterward they cut to poll standings and give no mention to the results. It is insulting and in my opinion treasonous for the media to attempt to sway the minds of Americans in deciding the next president. The final question posed to the Citadel group was "Did Paul belong in the debate?" This group answered in the affirmative but I imagine Fox News is trying to deflect inquiry in a similar fashion as vandalizing every house on the street, including your own. Hannity just said any of the candidates can win the nomination but Paul. WTF?

Faux news and the rupert murdoch empire use their voice to attempt to shape public opinon and further their own private agenda..

Many have lost all respect for their news broadcasting ability. There are countless sites dedicated to boycotting fox.

I personally have contacted local advertisers on fox to express my views regarding the station, and have included them in my boycott as well.

I am equally upset. The group of sheeples they had in that room were giving answers too perfect that I swear they were actors. And why do they have to single out Ron Paul as the loser while promoting Fred Thomson as the winner when they've been showing both of them at the bottom of the polls? Doesn't make much sense to me. In my opinion, they waited until the very end of all the interviews to even mention they weren't interviewing Ron Paul because they KNEW that everybody was waiting to hear an interview with Paul, therefore increasing the ratings by making everyone watch and wait.

dizneyland fan a million)you're saying he have been given booed, yeah he did no longer have as many seats interior the controversy by way of fee ticket sales in assessment to Guiliani and romney. however the supporters nonetheless got here out louder than the nay-sayers. 2) The text cloth debate exhibits him winning, yeah youngsters use text cloth yet maximum incredibly each physique does at present extra so than landlines it is how the different polls are performed. i understand no longer one individual who owns a landline yet no longer one without cellular. So who're we to believe the Cells or the landlines? How on the subject of the straw polls which additionally tutor Ron Paul winning? Are they innaccurate too? How approximately this Ron Paul wins straw polls (a million) and text cloth polls (2) Others win classic lanline polls (a million) 2 to a million Ron Paul wins, youngsters the way forward for united statesa. decide on Ron Paul. The text cloth polls and straw polls are extra good to control because of the fact one text cloth=a million vote and you could no longer be certain your polling individuals come from a definite team of people via looking demographics till now you poll. text cloth polling is probable the main precise polling carried out at present particularly whilst in comparison with the polls performed on landlines...who has a landlines anymore???

As i understand it, the "poll" is like American Idol, where people call or text in their preference. So, I guess Ron Paul is like Sanjaya.

If Hannity & Colmes are saying Thompson won the debate, that's probably just their opinions... I seriously doubt that you are representing the facts fairly when you state that it's the network's position.

Because the host of the show have a different opinion than the people who voted. That would be my guess.

Its like a movie getting a really bad review but it makes tons of money at the box office.

The key here is who did you think won the debate :)

Your phrase 'treason in the media' brings to mind the NY Times divulging operational information that was until then kept where it belonged by the NSA.

But hey, if some poll figures twist you...

Thompson spoke at last!! He is very smart and knows he has what it takes to be President, but he needs to speak more , let people know who he is and what he wants to do for the country. I also beleive he won the debate. As far as Fox own poll, I beleive the democrats go there to vote to make it look like if it was us repoblicans voting..

Because the PaulBots stuffed the ballot box - AGAIN. They have a well known habit of hacking and stuffing online poll results. The focus groups - you know, people who actually WATCHED it instead of cheating for their guy - overwhelmingly sided with Thompson. So did the remote audience reaction - again, people who actually WATCHED instead of cheating.

Paul got the lowest real-time reaction of any candidate at any debate. Maybe he shouldn't have suggested that speedboats coming right at a Navy vessel with explicit threats of violence aren't a real threat; can you say USS Cole? Maybe he shouldn't have explicitly shown more trust in Al Jazeera than in his own nation.

Incidentally, you are LYING by implying that Paul was not allowed in H&C - they invited him and he REFUSED to come on. You're showing the same kind of arrogance and dishonesty which has cost Paul so much support among actual informed adults.

As for 'treasonous' you have no business using that word because you have no idea what it means. Paul is closer to treason than any politician since Kerry.

You libs do understand that Hannity and Colmes is an OPINION SHOW and NOT FOX NEWS right? When will you people get that. Is every show on ABC, NBC or CBS considered news? Jay Leno or David Letterman? Friends or Sienfeld? Hello people! Learn the difference between an actual news broadcast and an opinion show.

I agree with you.

I was extremely upset at how debate was covered afterwards and how the focus group was completely biased against Ron Paul.

I thought Ron Paul had the most passionate and strongest arguments out of all of them.

I don't think Thompson won but he did do better than the last few debates.

It's a bit too late I'm afraid.

John McCain and Mike Huckabee did good.

Romney was fake and plastic as usual.

Rudy was dull and mentioned 9/11 a few times.

Ron Paul seemed to be confused and rambling on like an old fool. You can see his lowest point in the video below:

Ron Paul's followers are really zealous. Most people I know do not call in for their candidates, they don't take it seriously and Paul's win indicate that they might be right.

i think it's pretty clear that fox has been hyping ft from the start - of all the candidates he best fits the fox profile - in lockstep with the global warming issue, among others

I agree... treasonous and it has nothing to do with Paul. It is an intrusion, an unexpected component of the American process and it needs to be addressed...disgraceful...

and totally blatant.

You really shouldn't take Fox news seriously. It's more entertainment.
