whats the difference between liberals and conservatives? and which side are you on?

i always see people saying that liberals are dumb or conservatives are dumb, and yet both sides seem to think that they are the underdogs and they are on the right side... i don't see the difference.

im sure that people who tell me the difference are going to insult the other group somehow or crack a joke about how outrageous and how stupid the other group is.

whats the difference between liberals and conservatives?
whats the different political view points of each side?
which side are you on or do you think this whole "liberal vs. conservative" thing is dumb?

Liberals believe the government should be more involved in your life, while conservatives want less government intervention.



The two main parties kind of messed things up because Democrats (mainly liberal) want more government intervention economically, but typically less socially. Republicans (mainly conservative) want less government intervention economically, but typically more socially.



Liberals usually want high taxes, more government intervention in business, are pro-choice, pro-gun control, and are against the war. Conservatives are usually the opposite. I myself am a libertarian which is like a far-right conservative.

Big question, "Liberals" popularly believe in pro-choice, social programs, multi ethnic culture, government programs and a little bit less authoritarian then conservatives.

"conservatives" believe in small government, anti-abortion, pro-donation programs, nationalist agenda, and usually believe in somewhat more authoritarian control.

Both believe in there own brand of social engineering, eventhough neither group admits to it. Both groups demonize each other by grouping a large minority of people into what is usually a much smaller mindset. aka "They all terrorists" or "they are all nazi's"



Anybody that totally agrees with all of the things that any 1 group aspouses is usually brainwashed by their parents, the military, or higher education.

I'm socially moderate and fiscally conservative.



The differences vary on what the issues are. The whole "liberal" or "conservative" debate is more complicated than people make them out to be. People tend to over-simplify the matter and put themselves in one category or another.

Lets look at these two:

Conservative: Against changes, closed minded, easily offended, not forgiving, see's the world in absolutes: black/white, all/or nothing, either/or. rigid, whiny, has trouble with reasoning with others in a more beneficial way

Liberal: Likes to improve on things, open minded, offended only when they absolutely have to be, willing to help others, more forgiving, see's thing in a gray area, independent. confident. relaxed. more diplomatic,

Liberals believe that they know best how you should live your life and want to be in power to do just that. They believe in taking from people they deem as rich and giving that to people they deem as needy. They believe that you are stupid and can barely remember to breath. They want to tell you how much education you can get, what kind of job to get, how much health care you can get, and what kind of car to drive. Of course this kind of govenment kills the human spirit, lowers self esteem, and rewards laziness and fails every time it is tried.



Conservatives believe in small government, low taxes, strong military and national defense and the government staying out of it's citizens lives as much as possible. Conservatives believe that you help people that are having financial hard times by teaching them the skills to better themselves and their families. This kind of government promotes individualism, rewards work, and increases self esteem and works every time it is tried.

Liberals want to the government to be involved to end corruption, conservatives don't. they want '' personal freedom ''. liberals care about environment, conservatives don't, they just want to build more businesses, and they STILL don't believe in global warming. liberals don't want the government to to have a say w/what to do w/women's bodies, conservatives don't care and call liberals '' baby killers ''. liberals are accepting of minorities, gays, other races, while conservatives are racists and anti-gay marriage. basically liberals rock, and conservatives suck!
