Why is it so hard for some people to understand many people cannot accept homosexuality as moral and normal, and consider it to be nothing but a mental disorder?

Ah, but the BSA does not deny those with mental disorders. As long as you're able to complete the requirements, there is no bar for other mental disorders.



I personally know some autistic teens that are Scouts. Not only have THEY not been denied entry, but the spirit of HELPING that's at the core of Scouts, is seen when his fellow members HELP him.

It is not a mental disorder. It is a choice.



There is no gene that makes one act flamboyant like many gays chose to do. They are belonging to a club. It is not feminine acting.



@Michael - It is well documented that more church leader on children abuses take place in protestant religions. You just bought into the Catholic hater crowd.



I left the Boy Scouts at 14 when I learned that my Scout Master was gay after being approached bu one of the other kids in the troop. I saw about 8 of them all looking at men on men magazines in one of the tents. Pedophiles go where kids are.

"Firm in their position" . . is that really the best way to pose the question . . . I think the Boy Scouts should be disbanded . . If there is even one case of abuse, its one too many . . These are children being recruited for an organization that defends systematic abuse . . I feel the same way about Catholic schools . . They should be made public domain and the preists sent to monastaries away from children . . Perversion that parents are willing to accept from some sense of religious loyalty . . Unacceptable

Given the amount of constant scrutiny that an openly gay scout leader would be under I think that it's safe to say that a kid would be a lot safer w/ an openly gay scout leader than they would w/ a leader who was a closet pedophile

No. The Boy Scouts have been infiltrated by the LDS - those of plural marriage and child sexual abuse in UT, CO & AZ. They should clean their own house first.
