Why should Failed and Collapsed states be a grave and serious concern for the international community?

I realize the Humanitarian aspect of why the international community should care about failed states, I was wondering if there were more reasons.

well, the states where almost all recent terrorist attacks and attempts are based are failing ones- Pakistan, Yemen, Afghanistan, Somalia- which is also the home of the pirates who are having disastruous effects on maritime transport and trade and thus pretty severe economic consequences

Just consider Germany after World War 1. A failed and collapsed state is one step away from being a rogue nation. Especially dangerous if they have military equipment or WMD for sale.
