'Majorities of voters – 52 percent in Virginia, and 57 percent in preliminary exit poll results in New Jersey – approved of the way Obama is handling his job. Most in both states, moreover, said the president was not a factor in their vote.'

I don't look at national politics when deciding on my vote in a local election.

I am from Illinois, and thanks to our idiot impeached governor I will find it next to impossible to vote for a dem even though I am a total Obama supporter. Local and national are different questions, different issues, different concerns.

What I really think is that some folks are so scared of being seen as racist that they will say nothing negative about our Dear Leader Obama.

That would explain the above.

It would also explain why there's such a disparity between people who profess a liking for Obama (a slight majority) while those same folks in the same poll disagree vehemently with his policies and the direction of the country (also a slight majority). It just doesn't make sense - except for the "race card" factor.

That's good for conservatives and bad for libtards by the way. False poll results almost invariably work against the folks those polls favor.

The question is flawed. How the person voted on a LOCAL election wouldn't have anything to do with reflecting on Obama. However, if the defeated Governer was a signatory to the Obama style of government, then the Democrats need to worry because the next election isn't local and those angry voters are going to express themselves loudly and probusely in less than one year from now.

Not what I'm seeing on local news vs. national. Interesting. That's exactly why I don't put stock in polling numbers.

Anyhow, it can't be ignored that a huge factor in Virginia's Republican win was due to the 1/3 vote from Independents who largely went for Obama.

Wasn't the virtually TRILLION dollar porculus (stimulus) in the present day after Obama replaced into inaugurated the formidable step that the Democrats placed all their chips on? They spun the wheel with one thousand billion (with a T) of our grandchildrens' tax funds on the table and that they misplaced. After that, the Democrats very own the recession. The bailouts of Wall highway and of Detroit. The "shovel waiting" initiatives that heavily isn't waiting for years, whilst they might possibly be inflationary, all that's Obama's and the Democrats. the only element that Congress can do this has a directly result on the economic device is to decrease company taxes. yet Obama desires to enhance company taxes via calling the tax will improve, tax loopholes. His coping with of the economic device is akin to the three Stooges on the leaking rowboat drilling the backside to permit the water out. he's following the uncomplicated Democratic recipe of gathering taxes, appointing czars like Elizabeth Warren whom the Senate does no longer be certain because of the fact of her properly-uncomplicated Leftist perspectives, and having the czars dole out the funds for public initiatives that they deem worth. If it sounds Stalinist, it fairly is.

I think their votes have to do with Democrats as a whole, not just Obama. The Demos in these local elections are tax and spend liberal thieves. We're in the process of taking America back!

So how, then, does ABC News explain these epic losses for Democrats on the night of the first election since the President who didn't affect anything took office?

I think that is true. I would not vote for a local candidate based on who the president is.

I think it's BS, I think votes are scared of looking un-PC by saying that Obama isn't cutting it.
