How do political parties and committees organize Congress. Explain why you would or would not predict strong party leadership (i.e., Speaker of the House, Majority/Minority Leaders) in the 111th Congress? If you are really into politics, you can include dodd and openhemier's opinions. I want to get some good ideas together for my paper, but I need more people to survey (it seems like no one here knows anything about politics).

You're asking too broad of questions for a "survey".... but I'll try to answer anyway.

I predict that Bohner will try to talk the talk, but will fall back on his establishment Republican premises. The true leaders in the 111th Congress, will be those who will remain after the 2012 election, & will be those who sincerely listen to the American people. The will support the Earmark Moratorium. They will take the deficit and over-spending seriously. They will persevere in bringing up legislation time after time that will repeal Obamacare.

"We the People" have spoken loudly and clearly. "We the People" does not have deep loyalty to any established political party. They adhere to the U.S. Constitution. They are of every race, creed and gender. Because of the Tea Party (which is not a political party) they now are not the "silent majority".

No ifs, and, or buts about it - the Democrats will continue to deny debate through gimmicks and legislative maneuvering, suppressing alternative ideas and dissenting views through the end of the 2010 year with their Lame Duck Congress.

The leadership in the 111th Congress must get out of their Washington D.C. bubble & keep listening to the voters. Maybe it is just as well that there is not strong leadership in the Republican Majority of the House of Reps. Read Peggy Noonan's latest column.... she hit a homerun with it!

All the aforementioned illustrate their ineptness and corrupting ways on a daily basis. I do hope this country is wide awake and at the polls November 2nd to vote all the insanity out of office and restore accountability to the senate and the congress. We need to make this president, who has done nothing but try to destroy our great nation with his progressive agenda, to get the message that we are mad as hell, and we are not going to take it anymore.
