Why was Fox News banned in Canada?

Canada passed a law essentially prohibiting lying on broadcast news, and the only major news channel denied permission to broadcast was Fox News. How can people possibly believe Fox News is "fair and balanced"? Any research will show that not only is it biased, but it actually lies and falsifies statistics.

Fox "news" broadcasts INTO Canada from New York and other states but it does not broadcast from Canada and there are NO Fox "news" stations in Canada. Fox "news" comes into Toronto and other cities because it comes in via digital cables and the cable companies. There is a regulation in Canada prohibiting broadcasting deliberate lies for personal or political gain over the public airwaves. There used to be a regulation like that in the US but Reagan and the republicans killed it which is why we now have professional liars like Rush Limbaugh and Rupert Murdoch

FOX can broadcast into Canada like any channel, but they cannot be a Canadian company because of their law against misrepresenting the news. The response from "clean truck" calling this a lie in all caps is so indicative of the angry unintelligent bleating that we hear so much from the right because they have been so poisoned by the misinformation on FOX

I wonder how you'd react if Canada chose to ban CNN, MSNBC or any broadcast station that the conservatives often deem as liberal? Still celebrating? Still loving it? Not so much any more, eh? My observation is this: only those who are weak-minded, ignorant, and/or unintelligent have no tolerance and/or stomach for those who offer opposite points of view. These poor souls are the ones who have truly been poisoned by lies that can't stand against the truth. If you are truly for freedom of speech and press, you, too, should be against this ban. I don't support the liberal point of view but I will fight a good fight for you liberals to say your piece. One more thing, if you don't fight for the conservative's right to free speech, you, too, will have your right to free speech taken away one day.

Maybe the Canadian government actually is a genuine government instead of being a hand puppet of the billionaire ruling class and big corporations like the American government is. Another good example: Canada's government sets price controls on pharmaceuticals because it won't allow Big Pharma to rip off its citizens. The U.S. government does the opposite, barring Americans from importing Canadian drugs because it would cut into Big Pharma's profit margin. I wish the American government cared as much about its own citizens as Canada's cares about theirs...

Look, I do not believe for one second that Fox news is actually fair and balanced. No one can possibly make a claim like that. Yes, they claim to be fair and balanced, but people can claim anything they like.



Allow yourself to challenge your own assumptions. You have apparently been told so many times that Fox news is biased, that you are no longer aware that you have been indoctrinated. You were never aware of this fact in the first place. You have been brainwashed into believing that Fox news is the problem.



There are no news networks that are unbiased. Human beings are biased and prejudiced, so it is just impossible for any news channel to be truly objective about any issue imaginable.

OH btw: the CBC is slightly liberally biased, but they are not strongly biased and still have some conservative shows and have conservatives on their political panels
