He's the one that set the tax codes.

Let me try to act like a neocon lovin'-pseudo-republican for this one:

The liberals did it. McCain is a war hero. Obama is not experianced and black. You are unpatriotic go back to Iraq with the terrorists. Abortion is murder. Obama did it/will make it worse. Commie. Bush's hands were tied it was congress, congress did it, Bush hates vetoing things. It was before Bush's 8 years in office/Clinton did it. There is nothing wrong with our economy. Get another job. Stop whining. Sean Hannity is a great american. God bless america. Love it or leave it.

Corporate taxation is always the reason that companies move overseas. They move to jurisdictions that will not confiscate the fruits of their labor. Elimination of corporate and personal income taxes via the Fair Tax Act will result in 98% of those businesses returning to America plus many foreign companies moving their operations to American soil. It's just a matter of time. Every month a higher percentage of congressmen get behind the Fair Tax Act.

Because congress passes tax law too. Bush has relaxed corporate taxes but states may not have. Unions and high wages are more to blame for going overseas.

Bush, cut tax rates. Those lower tax rates are what McCain wants to keep permanent.

Democrats seem to always raise tax rates. Not only on income taxes American citizens pay, but also on corporate tax rates. When a corporation has to pay higher taxes, it does one thing. Increases the cost of doing business for the corporation.

What do a corporation do when its cost go up? Increase their price. So in reality, the American people PAY the corporate tax in the form of higher prices for goods and services.

The dirty little secret about taxes is this. Corporation do not pay taxes. They are middle men tax collectors for the government.

Taxes are a cost of doing business, just like labor, utilities, material and other overhead items.

When you support tax increases - you support more meny coming out of your pocket.

Here's another dirty little secret about tax cuts. Not only is the Democrat mantra of, "How are we going to pay for tax cuts" a farse. But, everytime the government cuts taxes, the government actually receives more money to spend like John Edwards in a beauty parlor.

Its like JC Penny's have a white sale and discounting bed sheets for 40% off. Do you think, JC Penny's is doing you a favor by letting you buy sheets for only 60% of the normal cost? Or, do they know that by discounting the sheets, more people will come in and buy sheets, thus making them more money?

Tax cuts are the governments way of discounting money. Lower tax rates, mean more money left in your pocket to spend. Since every freaking thing we buy is taxed in some way or another, the government makes more and more money....

....um.....maybe because that is a trend that started in the 1990s before "Blame Bush" became so fashionable....

the "tax codes" that McCain wants to keep are those that give incentives to businesses and employers...

ultimately, Congress levies taxes....so call me crazy, but that is why I make sure my Congressmen and Senators know my name...it's not as easy as sitting in a comfy chair and acting witty on-line...but it's not as hard a some people pretend...

Do you really expect Republicans to take the blame for their mistakes? They simply try to spin it over to blame the Democrats. Remember how they tried to blame Clinton for 9/11?

Bush did set the codes and left way to many loopholes in them. What we have now is the byproduct of his incompetence.

By the way Anarking, that is classic. I like it.

Wrong. Congress makes the laws, including the tax laws. But it's not only taxes companies attempt to avoid by moving overseas, it's the ridiculous wages that are demanded of American companies by labor unions that drives them away.

Taxes are not passed by the president, only Congress has the power to lay them, Read the constitution.

Congress sets tax codes not Bush.

EDIT: ¡əʞᴉ when they had the majority they didn't raise them and actually did cut taxes when they had the majority!

So if it's bad now, what about if Obama comes into office? If you are informed at all, Obama will RAISE taxes on business...thus sending MORE overseas!

Article 1

Section 7. All bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with amendments as on other Bills.

Every bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a law, be presented to the President of the United States; if he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the objections at large on their journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the bill, it shall be sent, together with the objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a law. But in all such cases the votes of both Houses shall be determined by yeas and nays, and the names of the persons voting for and against the bill shall be entered on the journal of each House respectively. If any bill shall not be returned by the President within ten days (Sundays excepted) after it shall have been presented to him, the same shall be a law, in like manner as if he had signed it, unless the Congress by their adjournment prevent its return, in which case it shall not be a law.

Every order, resolution, or vote to which the concurrence of the Senate and House of Representatives may be necessary (except on a question of adjournment) shall be presented to the President of the United States; and before the same shall take effect, shall be approved by him, or being disapproved by him, shall be repassed by two thirds of the Senate and House of Representatives, according to the rules and limitations prescribed in the case of a bill.

Wow not even 5 minutes and a thumbs down already...you libs must really hate the Constitution.

Here is a simplified explanation of our current tax code for all you liberals that do not understand economics. From David R. Kamerschen, Ph.D., Professor of Economics, University of Georgia

Bar Stool Economics

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for a couple of beers and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes according to our current tax structure, it

would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.

The fifth would pay $1.

The sixth would pay $3.

The seventh would pay $7.

The eighth would pay $12.

The ninth would pay $18.

The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the

arrangement, until on day, the owner threw them a curve. "Since you are

all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of

your daily bar bill by $20."Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so

the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free.

But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they

divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?'

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted

that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would

each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested

that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same

percentage of total of what he had been paying, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).

The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).

The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).

The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).

The tenth now paid $49 in stead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four

continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men

began to compare their savings.

"I only got a dollar out of the $20,"declared the sixth man. He pointed

to the tenth man," but he got $10!"

"Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar,

too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!"

"That's true!!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back

when I got only two"

"The rich get all the breaks!"

"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get

anything at all. The system exploits the poor!"

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat

down and had beers without him.

But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something

important. They didn't have enough money among them all for even

half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how

our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most

benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being

wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might

start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier, or

not reinvest in the community.
