Question:
What do you think will happen if we find Bin Laden and kill him?

I mean there are others trained to take his place and the same after that who thinks we just need to withdrawl the troops and drop an atomic bomb on them I mean that place has fought with other places forever what makes them think they are going to change now? And since G.B is sitting over there we need to impeach him and everyone for him because this has gone wrong ok I personally think hes just getting revenge on us for what we did to his old man.

You're right...we should just let them all be. That way, they will eventually begin to live peaceful lives and give up on that reestablishment of the caliphate thing.

No, bin Laden would actually be put on trial at the UN for his crimes. It would be a big deal, kind of like Nurenburg, where bin Laden would probably find his way into a prison rather than making a martyr out of him.

A bin Laden trial would bolster support for the War on Terror. Killing him outright wouldn't give people the opportunity to see him stand in shackles, which would serve as a greater propaganda tool rather than seeing a still picture of bin Laden with a hole in his head.

Remember how happy everyone was when Saddam was captured?

Bin Laden, captured and alive to be paraded around is worth more than him dead.

Bin Laden's assassination would most probably drive his followers into a frenzy resulting in more terrorist related deaths and damage. Even if he were to be captured tried and executed he would most likely become a martyr that would inspire more terrorist activity.

The majority of voters gave the president a second term and like it or not he's going to finish his term. I think any attempt to impeach the president would be an error on the part of the US. and since th US has forbidden political assassinations I'm afraid that the best thing for the US is to finish what has been started. The immediate withdrawal of troops would probably be seen as weakness on our part and make us appear badly to our allies as well as our enemies. The expression, "Don't change horses in the middle of the stream" comes to mind.

Nothing. Bin Laden is a pimple on a gnats arsh. He was never the planner but only the source of funding for 9/11. I promise you the flow of money from this creep has greatly slowed since that fateful September day in 2001.

Kill him, sure, but don't look for that to slow the aggression of the maniacs.

Now, a hydrogen bomb in Tehran is a different matter. Next question? "Who's next?" There will be no takers.

I believe getting Bin Laden is now purely smbolic. It is not a Republican nor a Democratic issue. Yes others will take his place. I agree with that part of your statement. If we drop a bomb are we not accountable for innocent lives? Do we have the right to annihilate a country???

There are thousands of people like Bin Laden. GWB policies are creating Americas' enemies by the millions.

Afghanistan will do to America what they did to the Russians.

In the mean time we are spending there, billions of taxpayers money.

I believe it could have one of two consequences.

It could make a martyr out of him and he could become used as a propaganda piece to recruit even more terrorists.

Or, It would show the terrorists the might of the US and that no one can hide from us forever and create less terrorists.

I am not sure what will happen really but I do think we need to get him to serve Justice to the victims of his terror network.

Let's not kill murderers as there will just be new ones, right?

Let's impeach someone who actually, for the first time in the history of dealing with terrorism, tried to do something about it?

Silly. Islam wants to dominate the world. My family escaped Islam in the 1950s. We've been expecting this war for decades. We've been stunned at the combination of spineless appeasement and utter ignorance about Islam and it's bloody history up to the present.

This is Islam's last chance. If they can silence us, stop us, they think they'll win. It's already too late. Their people all know what freedom is, and the seed is planted. The revolution has already begun.

Nothing, now that there are over 1,000 times as many terrorist as there was 6 years ago. Since Bush gave up on the "war on terrorism" for a "war profiteering" venture in Iraq, the terrorist have grown too large to make much of any impact by capturing OBL.
2007-06-10 09:22:40 UTC
He may already be dead. There are others to take over. Had we gone after him 6 years ago and were relentless I think we could have gotten him and Al Qaeda would have been weaker. Now they have gained strength in Iraq and new leaders are immerging.

The "war on terror" doesn't change, with or without him. Al-qaeda no longer needs him. Terrorism existed before him and it will exist after him.

Nothing we do can can make it worse. They're already radical, religious extremists, beyond the effects of logic and reason, bent on destruction of non-Muslims.

I only hope we have the opportunity to find out an answer to your question. If we can and do find him, I hope his death is slow, painful, and public. If that is a rallying cry for his followers, it only proves they follow a path of destruction and hate.

BUSH MADE A DEAL WITH MUSHARREF NOT TO HUNT OSAMA!

http://www.guardian.co.uk/alqaida/story/ 0,12469,1028044,00.html

Osama bin Laden:

http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/osama_dead.html

A dead nemesis perpetuated by the US governmentOsama bin Laden is dead. The news first came from sources in Afghanistan and Pakistan almost six months ago: the fugitive died in December [2001] and was buried in the mountains of southeast Afghanistan. Pakistan's president, Pervez Musharraf, echoed the information. The remnants of Osama's gang, however, have mostly stayed silent, either to keep Osama's ghost alive or because they have no means of communication.

With an ego the size of Mount Everest, Osama bin Laden would not have, could not have, remained silent for so long if he were still alive. He always liked to take credit even for things he had nothing to do with. Would he remain silent for nine months and not trumpet his own survival? [New York Times. July 11, 2002]

Bin Laden has often been reported to be in poor health. Some accounts claim that he is suffering from Hepatitis C, and can expect to live for only two more years. According to Le Figaro, last year [2000] he ordered a mobile dialysis machine to be delivered to his base at Kandahar in Afghanistan. [Guardian]

Peter Bergen: Bin Laden has aged 'enormously' This is a man who was clearly not well. I mean, as you see from these pictures here, he's really, by December [2001] he's looking pretty terrible.

Healthy bin Laden

But by December, of course, that tape that was aired then, he's barely moving the left side of his body. So he's clearly got diabetes. He has low blood pressure. He's got a wound in his foot. He's apparently got dialysis ... for kidney problems. [CNN]The [December 27, 2001 video] was dismissed by the Bush administration ... as sick propaganda possibly designed to mask the fact the al-Qa'eda leader was already dead. "He could have made the video and then ordered that it be released in the event of his death," said one White House aide. [Telegraph]

Pakistan's Musharraf: Bin Laden probably dead

Pakistan's president says he thinks Osama bin Laden is most likely dead because the suspected terrorist has been unable to get treatment for his kidney disease.

[A Bush administration official] said U.S. intelligence is that bin Laden needs dialysis every three days and "it is fairly obvious that that could be an issue when you are running from place to place, and facing the idea of needing to generate electricity in a mountain hideout." [CNN]Renal dialysis -- talking about hemodialysis -- is something that really is reserved for patients in end-stage renal failure. That means their kidneys have just completely shut down. The most common cause of something like that would be something like diabetes and hypertension. Once that's happened, if you're separated from your dialysis machine -- and incidentally, dialysis machines require electricity, they're going to require clean water, they're going to require a sterile setting -- infection is a huge risk with that. If you don't have all those things and a functioning dialysis machine, it's unlikely that you'd survive beyond several days or a week at the most. [CNN]

Magazine runs what it calls bin Laden's will

The editor-in-chief of a London-based Arab news magazine said a purported will it published Saturday was written late last year [2001] by Osama bin Laden, and shows "he's dying or he's going to die soon." [CNN]Usama bin Laden has died a peaceful death due to an untreated lung complication, the Pakistan Observer reported, citing a Taliban leader who allegedly attended the funeral of the Al Qaeda leader. "The Coalition troops are engaged in a mad search operation but they would never be able to fulfill their cherished goal of getting Usama alive or dead," the source said. [FOX News]

Israeli intelligence: Bin Laden is dead, heir has been chosen

The Central Intelligence Agency has closed a unit that for a decade had the mission of hunting Osama bin Laden and his top lieutenants, intelligence officials confirmed Monday. The unit, known as Alec Station, was disbanded late last year and its analysts reassigned within the C.I.A. Counterterrorist Center, the officials said. [New York Times 07/03/06]

Well, I guess I would be asking why it took so long and why President Bush said in news conferences how he doesn't think about Osama anymore, even though bin Laden was our whole reason for invading Afghanistan in the first place. Since Osama is gone (one way or the other) we can not only leave Afghanistan (since Bush insists the Taliban is gone -Remember "MIssion Accomplished"?

With our troops out of the Middle East, maybe our Republican President can get some domestic issues dealt with.

In 6 years of a Republican White House (Executive Branch), a Republican Congress (Legislative Branch) and a Repubican-majority Supreme Court (Judicial Branch), exactly what has our Republican leadership DONE with their unprecedented unilateral power?

In 6 years have Republicans:

Given the American People a Balanced Budget Amendment?

A Marriage Amendment, dictating a marriage in America is One Man, One Woman?

A No Flag Burning Amendment? During various Republican campaign speeches, ALL these proposed amendments' defeat were compared to the downfall of America and Family Values;

Have they abolished or done ANYTHING about abortion in America? Again, every election, Repubicans come out with facts and figures saying how abortion is murder, but not ONE has introduced a bill in the last 6 years to overturn Roe vs. Wade;

Have they looked out for the troops dying in foreign lands? They, of course, SAY they support the troops, but President Bush has just vetoed a 3.5% pay raise for soldiers. This makes the third raise denial or actual pay and benefit CUT in 6 years. The Republican Congress who ALSO said they supported the troops allowed this travesty to occur. A PFC with 2 children in the US Army now must apply for Food Stamps and Welfare to feed his family. Meanwhile, how many Republicans have honorably served in the US Military, whether in peacetime OR war?

http://www.awolbush.com/whoserved.html

Why hasn't your Republican President who is "so strong on defense and securing America's borders", still not done so? If our borders are secure, then why are illegal immigrants streaming into this coutnry by the thousands each day, virtually unchecked? I live in Arizona so Ive seen this firsthand.

If "We Are Fighting Them THERE, So We Don't Have to Fight Them HERE," then how does the Bush Administration explain the appearance of a plot within US borders to attack JFK airport's fuel access lines? And, since it is proven we need to fight them HERE, why are we still fighting them THERE? Related to this, i the borders are secure and no terrorists are getting into the country, why is the ridiculous "Terrorist Threat Board" still at "Elevated"? Why did it not even TWITCH during the JFK fuel line plot? Is it pretty much another failed attempt by our Republican leadership to divert our attention from a flagrant oil grab in the Middle East?

Why didn't the Bush adminsitration stop or thwart the attacks on Sept 11, 2001? Why did he initially resist forming a Dept of Homeland Security and a 9/11 Commission? Why did the Commission have to SUPEONA documents related to the attacks from the White House? Why did OUR PRESIDENT refuse to go on record to that same commission about his actions prior to Sept 11? Why has he STILL not implemented ANY of the 42 recommendations suggested by that Commission? If he thinks the recommendations are ineffective or won't work, why did he choose such unqualified people to be ON the commission?

Why have so many of Bush's cabinet members, flunkies and scapegoats resigned, left or just outright quit their posts? Why was Bush's Texas Driving Record classified Top Secret? Why did Republicans elect their first convicted felon to the White House? Why didn't Bush finish his Texas Air National Guard obligation? Why wasn't he charged with Desertion in the Face of the Enemy (Vietnam)?

Why do Republicans think ignoring the legal doctrine of HABEAS CORPUS (aka, you better have a good reason to arrest, eavesdrop or read the mail of someone) to fight an impossible war on an emotion, only makes America look like Fascists to the rest of the world, which does nothing but create global instability?

Don't serial killers and child rapers inspire terror in Americans too? Then how come Bush isn't invading the GOP, home to some of the most twisted pedophiles ever to grace the great Halls of Power in their both their own hometowns AND Washington DC?

http://www.armchairsubversive.org/http://www.armchairsubversive.org/

In six years of total control of all 3 Branches of the most influential government body on the face of the Earth, why haven't Republicans fixed Social Security?

Why are bankruptcies and foreclosures at record highs, along with both personal and government debt? Why are there more homeless, more Welfare Moms, more Teens pregnant, more crime, more corruption in Big Business? Why did the Political Party of "Fair Business" award Vice President Cheney's corp, Halliburton, a $5 Billion "No Bid- No Compete" contract, not even ENTERTAINING bids from other, not-so-well-connected companies both eager and able to do the job? Why does the American Taxpayer continue to pay subsidies to Big OIl Companbies, who are posting record quarterly profits by creating aftificial shortages to raise prices?

Why were our troops, the best trained and best equipped fighting force in the world, sent into harm's way without necessary and effective personal and vehicular armor? Why were OUR SOLDIERS forced to scrounge through wrecks of military vehicles to salvage armor to use on their OWN vehicles?

Halliburton bills the US Taxpayer $100 per day to feed each soldier in Iraq and Afghanistan. They then subcontracted this job out to foreigners who are in charge of feeding American troops (for $6.00 per meal per soldier, or less than 1/4 what Halliburton charges us. Why was there no Republican oversight of this and other egregious overbillings and charges?

Last question:

Buish has said repeatedly during the Troops Funding Bill fights, he would veto any Bill with a Timeline for an America Forces withdrawal from Oilraq, because he felt it more appropriate to listen to the military than to Democrats in Congress. He used this same reason to counter oppostion to his proposed "Troop Surge" into Iraq, even though his own War Advisor didn't think it was a good idea.
