Question:
Why is the CBO all of a sudden accepted by GOP, when they spent last 5 years ignoring it?

Cbo says Obamacare will cause job loss.. That's exactly what you wanted to hear, so now you like it.

Cbo also said repealing Obamcare would add to deficit... You pretended you didn't hear that..

Cbo said Romney Ryan budget tax plan was a disaster that would explode the deficit while still cutting vital important programs.. FIngers in ears.

Cbo said most all welfare recipients are disabled, elderly and working people.. Crickets.

Face facts...You just hear what you want to hear.

That's not what the CBO said. The report stated that people who are only working as a means of keeping their insurance will be able to leave their place of work because the bill will provide a plan for them.

But honestly if you don't believe democrats hear only what they want to from the CBO just as often, if not more so, than republicans then you have some ideologic issues to work through. The first answerer for example brings up a good point. The CBO's projections are historically inaccurate, even wildly so. So when you hear a democrat citing CBO projections to bolster any economic plan they have you shouldn't really listen to them, just like when you hear a republican using the CBO to claim the ACA will cost jobs.

CBO predictions change on nearly a daily basis. But libs seem to think they are the be all, end all, of authoritative sources, when they say something that helps them. This is not a one-sided issue, Jason. Both sides tend to "hear what they want to hear."

The sad fact for you is, that once they have all the information they need to make accurate predictions, that is when WE want to use them. You go on what they come out with first--what sounds good for you. The later, more accurate information is usually dismissed by your side.

Take, for example, Obamacare. Initial CBO predictions said that it would help the economy...libs ran with it. Later predictions, after more information was available, said maybe not so much. Fewer jobs, less incentive to work, blah, blah. Both sides were politicized and taken further than the CBO intended, but both sides ran with the parts they liked. The conservatives just had the lastest, more accurate information helping them, as usual.

I didn't ignore the CBO saying repealing Obamacare would add to the deficit. I just understood that their study assumed that it would go back to the way things were instead of an alternate program.

I don't accept nor deny CBO studies based on politics. I take them exactly as they are.

The CBO's findings are supported by either party when they agree with what the party is saying.

This is true of both the Republicans and the Democrats.

We never had a problem with the CBO, because we know that they show the real results- the problem is that the CBO must use the raw numbers furnished by the administration as fact even if they know those raw numbers to be false.

The CBO is the official agency for the basis of government spending.

But that doesn't mean it is right. And it seldom is.

Republicans have no idea how ridiculous they sound when they do stuff like this.
