The flag is a symbol of the sacrifices of people who fought for this country and their values. Burning the flag doesn't burn this symbol it transcends the flag. Burning the flag is mainly not to show disrespect to those who gave their lives but as their own symbol seperate from the symbol of the flag.

People gave their life for the persute of freedom that flag represents. When I look at our flag my chest fills with pride for my fallen brothers in arms. I guess someone who never would unselfishly give their life for honor or a fellow brother warrior could not understand.
