The American dream is still there, but it's one that reminds everyone to spend wisely and save. Those who have the money to invest will look to Asia or Africa. The manufacturing sector will shrink, while seeing a growth in the services sector.

The big cities will be heavily dependent on the federal government and foreign investments. I don't think the big states can recover from this Depression within the next 10 years.

The military spending is a mixed bag. There are more threats around the world, but the defense budget is limited. After the cold war U.S. is the only Super Power. The next 10 years that role will be share with China.

If the dollars drop further, then it's another story. Hopefully, the Christmas season can see changes in consumers spending. We won't know if the economy is recovering until early next year. All the economic indexes tend to go up in the last quarter.

God Bless the dollars.

Well, this is kind of tough to say. There are too many "ifs" involved. But if all goes well, we should be enjoying the rebirth of Constitutional Conservatism. If that happens, America will be united and optimistic. Business should be expanding driven by consumer confidence. The investment market should be surging to higher levels. Unemployment will be pretty much non-existent. The National Debt will on the decline for the first time in a hundred years as a new generation of fiscally responsible Americans tempered by this economic disaster employ common sense in spending. The Social Security and Medicare Programs will be reformed. And once again, just as during the Reagan years, the future will be so bright you'll have to wear shades. *

How is the economy? Read the news and it's recovering.

Go to the grocery store or the employment agency and get ready for intergalactic shock.

North America or South America? The crustal plates underlying the continents are moving at different rates, so the answer will depend on which continent you are asking about.

I hope that by that time we are energy independent and no longer involved in any wars abroad. I hope that by that time the US has expanded it's reach into space and getting ready to send a manned expedition to Mars.

If you are a republican, you'll say in state of revolution or demolished. If a Democrat, we will have rebounded and things will be going great.

I believe in a self fulfilling prophecy; so I'm glad there aren't very many republicans! I just bought house; if that's any indication of how I think we wil be doing.

what America.....???We are not going to be anything like you look around and see today.....and it will not be for the better ...I could easily see a 30% + unemployment rate ...a nation that lives off wel fare and is broke....I go to Cozumel a lot and some of the people there have no running water, electric etc...no roofs as far as that goes...I can easily see America being that....

The dollar will be a second rate currency and we will be using Euros to by oil just like China,Japan and France are talking about now...

There will be the extremely rich and the extremely poor very few in between....

realistically, not much different than it is now. you might see more nonwhite faces, as there will be more mixing of races. i will still not be a billionaire and bill gates will still be one. big cities might hav more segway-like contraptions on the sidewalks.

I predict we will be about in the same boat as Austrailia. Nobody really pays them much mind politically on the global scale.

That is neither good or bad as I see it...it just is what it is.

We are going to be far from leading the pack as we insist on rewarding those who are less able and lack initiative as a society.
