Isn't it about time to seriously update the constitution?

No wonder cons love the constitution so much. It's old, crusty and out of style, just like them. It was written by rich, racist, slave owners and isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Come on...it's 2010. Isn't it finally time to have an updated version?

Can you believe it? Cons want to erase the bill of rights and replace it with the ten commandments! What a joke!

We've updated the constitution 27 times.

False. A few of the founders were rich and or slave owners. The constitution is fine the way it is

There have been 27 ammendments. Do you have a specific chang you would like to make?

But the current philosophy is "Why change it when you can just ignore it?"

Yeah...right...Constitution 2.0....

It holds to universal principles. It's not SUPPOSED to change easily.

I think you need to understand its purpose and how it was made before spouting off garbage like this.

I think the Patriot Act took care of *any* need for future updates.

I'm not rich, I'm not racist and I have never owned a slave.

No.

My family has fought and died defending that document and with God as my witness, nobody will "update" it.
