The Los Angeles City Controller said on Thursday the city's use of its share of the $800 billion federal stimulus fund has been disappointing.

The city received $111 million in stimulus under American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) approved by the Congress more than year ago.

"I'm disappointed that we've only created or retained 55 jobs after receiving $111 million," says Wendy Greuel, the city's controller, while releasing an audit report. http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/63228/20100917/american-recovery-and-reinvestment-act-arra-los-angeles-stimulus-wendy-greuel.htm

And leftists want THE SAME incompetent government to run 1/6 of our economy??? ROFLMAO!

What, are you surprised? At least these jobs aren't completely made up? Or are they?

certain that's a ordinary liberal fix to a difficulty. the priority is not in simple terms l. a., yet fairly some the monies were spent an same way. What few jobs that were created fee an conventional of over $2M in line with interest. something else of the money went to authorities worker retirement money to save them solvent in a lot of states. Kudos to the city controller for talking out on the abuse of taxpayer money.

I just read that story. Pathetic! Then some CPA gives Los Angeles a B minus on spending that money. B minus? Really?

Someone who goes by the name descarado from Nevada summed it up very well:

"Obamanomics in action. Now that's a lot of bang for the taxpayers' buck. If you want more, just bend over this November"

The people who do not get this are the same people who never heard that government pays over $1,000 for a toilet seat, because they were not born yet

Which is why the Tax and spend big government wasters are back in power, creating a depression and starting a civil war

Look quit picking on Obama. He honestly can't help it. He has been the victim of

GWB. Everything he has done wrong, leads right back to Bush. Come to think of it,

he even accused bush of having Custer killed at the little big horn. And for throwing

Sister Theresa under the Bus. Matter of fact Obama blames bush for Hurricane

Katrina. the Tsunami, traffic jams, and bad peanut butter. Bush was one mean dude.

So is this local official so incompetent? The Republican governor that decided how to spend the money, and he preferred not creating jobs. WHY?

According to the bipartisan Congressional Budget Office all local governments have reported 3.1 million jobs. This is why it is 400 thousand short of its goal. Why are we focusing on Los Angeles instead of the project as a whole?

L.A has a Democrat Mayor...'nuff said. Add in no oversight on how the $$$ was spent and you have the perfect combination for massive corruption.

What is the point of this post? Are you blaming Obama for the way LA used it's stimulus funds?

You do know that there's a difference between the Federal and State governments.
