Frankly, I think this is a cynical ploy to split the vote between UKIP & the BNP at the forthcoming elections (5th may 2011)

Why should they be taken seriously?

There are about 5000 seats being contested on 5th May, and the BNP have found it so hard to get candidates that they will only field 271 candidates in England.

Their brand of race-hate and violence has left them unpopular, and an irrelevance in the forthcoming election. They will win no contested council seats.

the bbc take a party seriously when the people start to take it seriously, that's probably why.

people seem to link the bnp with hate, well if true, hate is very serious and we should listen to what they say so we can combat them better! If you just shun them or ignore them then you leave the problem to grow which is really stupid...it's better to give them a voice of their own, and then help them by utilising your more powerful voice of reason and logic!

1939 to 1941, commerce, Othello, etc. How searchlight can fail to deliver a good adequate message to shame the BNP into accepting that they are in command of treason and could disband is a complication to me as I actual have a feeling it is approximately funds extremely than ethics, searchlight, as an enterprise, is an prolonged time previous.

I would question the decision to take many politicians seriously to be honest, but they have a voting base, and that deserves representation. Personally I think if you vote Labour you are a complete idiot, but I wouldn't be flippant about it. Like someone says, ignore the far right at your peril, and trying to make a joke out of it will possibly have a negative to the desired effect. Personally if you gave myself a Hobson's choice of the main 3 and BNP, I'd probably vote for them, as I certainly wouldn't abstain.

I don't see how anyone could disagree with trying to get Britain back on the world map with regards to manufacturing.

I think that it is important for everyone's voices to be heard. The BBC should act as that vehicle.

Why not? Allow the frontline propaganda to be propagated with one line headlines and there could be trouble. Give them enough rope to hang themselves with and the average Joe Public will see straight through the nonsense.

Ignore the far right at your peril, see Sweden & Netherlands for good examples.
