On the Indian political scene the Left has been notorious in taking wrong decisions at every major crossroads in India's history. It opposed India's demand for freedom from the British in 1942. Wasn't Ghandi's party a center-left party? They obviously didn't oppose leaving the UK.

History is filled with examples of individuals who have tried to stick up for unpopular choices.



Perhaps they saw india's demand for freedom as naive or childlike, that they would essentially be cut off from western intervention in the event of war.



And in that area of the world it is definately something worth thinking about.



btw, i'm not for or against anything, i just like being able to see people's points of view.

The left in the world survives because they exchange votes for money.

They are perceived as the ones whom help out the poor but actually are the ones whom keep the poor down.
