Question:
If global warming is a US government conspiracy to hike taxes, why is the US the only place people don't believe in it?

Why did I just hear one of the scientists on the UN Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change say the US is the hardest place to get people to understand climate change? Is it because America has such a good education system?

If you people _really_ believe that humans are causing the much-touted anthropogenic element to climate change

then:

Turn off your computers.

Turn off your electric lights or at least move to LED bulbs (those also pollute quite a bit but in use they are

much less problematic than CFL or incandescent lamps).

Junk-do not sell-your car and drive a bicycle where you want to go.

Cancel your public utility heating, cooling, and electrical power service - most those utilities use fossil

fuels to provide power and fuel and many use nuclear fuel rods. Very few use alternate energy to generate power.

I know that winters can be cold so to heat your homes, use wood. It is "carbon-neutral" and it is one of the

very few actually renewable resources that we have.

I also know that summers can be uncomfortable hot but you can cool your homes by opening the windows, planting trees so that the canopy shades your southern and western walls and the roof during summer. Use deciduous trees in your planting so that the winter sun can help to warm your house during the colder months.

Don't eat meat. Meat animals require very large grassland areas for grazing and their effluvia create air,

soil, and water pollution. Reduce the meat animal herd and plant trees in the former grazing lands to help

repair the damage to our atmosphere.

Don't eat vegetables that are out of season in your home area. Those out-of-season vegetable crops must be shipped from the area of Earth in which they _are_ in season to **your** area. That shipping uses fossil fuels and it is definitely NOT "carbon-neutral". Out of season vegetables cause pollution.

Don't eat fruits that are out of season in your home area or do not grow in your home area. The same shipping pollution that applies to out-of-season vegetables applies here redoubled. Many of our fruits and almost ALL spices that are common in the U.S.A. must be shipped from other continents. NOT environmentally friendly.

Don't eat foods that come from grocery stores. EVERYTHING in that grocery store must be brought in by truck.

Trucks use fossil fuels. Trucks are not carbon-neutral.

Instead, plant a kitchen garden and grow your own vegetables. Grow a large quantity and can them so that you can enjoy your food during the winter months when the plants do not grow and the land is resting.

If you must buy your food, buy only from local farmers -- SMALL farmers and definitely not the very large

corporate farms that pollute without conscience.

There, this list is but a beginning but if you really do believe that we humans are at the root of this climate

change and if you really want to do your part to stop it then you must do as I have suggested here and much, much more.

Good luck. Remember, we're all in this together.

It is because of the education system that in many places, teaches only the facts. The facts still leave a lot of unanswered questions. You did say climate change and I'm basically giving the answer for global warming. We all understand that climate change is happening, always has, how fast it happens is still debatable with the latest science leading in the direction that in geological terms. It happens quite quickly. How much man plays a role in it is also very debatable. From the 70's on one theory or set of so called facts, after another. Has been proved wrong. With the billions now being made by a handful of alarmist and the science being proved to have been manipulated, you can see how those that actually know the real facts, the real science. Would question what and how it really works. Besides all of that junk, believing that man can somehow control nature and the natural cycles of our planet, only a handful at that. Is really quite troubling.

You do realize that just 3 years ago, 30% of the Russian population. Still believed the earth was flat. That country is not alone in their level of education.

"Why did I just hear one of the scientists on the UN Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change say the US is the hardest place to get people to understand climate change? Is it because America has such a good education system?"

Its because those same scientists are the ones who will benefit financially if america caves into this global warming nonsense and starts shoveling money at them.

Exactly ZERO persons anywhere who even understand what science is are able to believe the IPCC. Why? In part, because the IPCC says:

> Getting ALMOST as warm as what CLIMATOLOGISTS call the "Medieval climate optimum" (another way to look at it: getting one or two degrees warmer than the COLDEST year in modern record) will make the planet unsuitable for mankind.

> Cause FOLLOWS effect. The IPCC really claims this is so - it is indeed CENTRAL to AGW theory.

> You can compare two sets of data gathered in two very different ways, make NO ADJUSTMENT and this will be a VALID way to determine the differences in the data

> Making CORRECT predictions proves your theory is wrong.

The indisputable fact is that you personally believe all four of those things or YOU ARE a "climate science denier."

But of course you don't even need to understand science to know it's STUPID to take anything the IPCC says at face value. ACCORDING TO THE IPCC, ACTUALLY FOLLOWING the IPCC's recommendations is 100% guaranteed to escalate man-made CO2 output DRAMATICALLY.

That's right. The IPCC says if it gets what it wants, the very thing it claims is THE problem will be magnified A LOT.

The shortest possible 100% ACCURATE summary of the IPCC's claims and policy recommendations is, "The problem is too much CO2 and the solution is more CO2."

INSANE people might say that.

RETARDED people might say that.

LIARS might say that.

No one else would ever CONSIDER saying that.

The IPCC does indeed make that exact claim - OPENLY in it's PUBLISHED reports.

Or it could be because Obama family and the rest of the ruling class traveling the world on vacation leaves a much larger carbon footprint than us peasants that drive to work and the grocery store. If liberals really believed global warming was man-made, they'd hold the Obamas responsible for their vacations.

That is a great point. So you are saying that people in America are just stupid and that the rest of the world, like Somalia, the slums of India, and the people of the African desert some of whom have never even SEEN electricity are smarter than Americans because they believe the global warming hoax. OK.

Here is my problem.

These "wizards of smart" scientists that support global warming have super computers capable of generating global climate models over the next several decades. They have dozens of satellites, thousands of data collecting stations, libraries filled with past climate data.....and yet they can't seem to predict accurately the weather for next week.

I look up what their long range prediction was for the winter of 2013/14. They said we were going to have average temperatures and slightly below average precipitation. Totally wrong. Matter of fact, 100% wrong.

Then I thought.....there is a group that publishes the Old Farmers Almanac. Been doing that over the past hundred years. Totally non-scientist people, uneducated on weather forecasting. No super computers, no data collection stations. Just a lot of common sense and past weather history.

What did they predict for the winter of 2013/14? Severe cold, lots of snow, bad storms along the Atlantic, severe cold in the southeast.....

In other words, 100% correct in every way and in every region!

Went back and examined these predictions over the past several years, and they had similar results. All true, look it up yourself. Easy to Google them.

What was their opinion of Global Warming? Not true, we have had periods of heating and cooling documented over the past 200 years. We have had corresponding periods of sunspot activity, changes in ocean currents, all of which would easily explain these changes.

So who am I suppose to believe here? A group of wizards of smart who can't predict the weather a week from now, or a group of people smart enough to open their eyes and use some common sense, and able to accurately predict the weather many months in advance!

I think we are sending billions of dollars for weather research to the wrong people.

But hey, it's must me. Maybe some day the libs will wake up and see it too.

I knew it was a lie when the first thing out of a Lib's mouth was, "We have to raise taxes in order to fight global warming."

Raise taxes. When in doubt, raise taxes. Impose another tax. When pressed, however. No one knows how raising taxes would stop global warming.

A study just out from a leading university in England

with a new finding....that there is not sufficient evidence that

saturated fats can cause heart disease.

WHAT THE F**K??!!....What happened to the SETTLED SCIENCE

that saturated fats did just that??

And now I read that the Hussein administration wants to reduce

by 25% cow flatulence to discourage global warming.

So, now cows have to pay for the "settled science" of global warming?...;-)

An overnight marinade makes the baked BBQ ribs you get from this recipe succulent."

Ingredients:

2 pounds pork baby back ribs

1 (18 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce

Directions:

1. Tear off 4 pieces of aluminum foil big enough to enclose each portion of ribs.

Spray each piece of foil with vegetable cooking spray.

Brush the ribs liberally with barbeque sauce and place each portion in its own piece of foil.

Wrap tightly and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, or overnight.

2. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).

3. Bake ribs wrapped tightly in the foil at 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) for 2 1/2 hours.

Remove from foil and add more sauce, if desired.

Greenland Ice Sheet Melting: http://youtu.be/et4KEGFIuFQ

http://precariousclimate.com/2014/02/11/global-warming-not-slowing-its-speeding-up/ 'fossil fuel industry is the cornerstone of our economy and is not proven to be causing dangerous global warming) with our narrative (it is an obsolete industry that is driving dangerous global warming; destroying our environment, society, and economy; and must and can be phased out urgently). http://www.ibtimes.com/greenland-ice-melt-accelerating-climate-change-awakens-sleeping-giant-1561707 'The Greenland ice sheet has contributed more than any other ice mass to sea-level rise over the last two decades and has the potential, if it were completely melted to raise global sea level by more than seven meters.”

Video. http://www.channel4.com/news/climate-change-global-warming-mand-made-ipcc-report-2014 'The world has seen changes in recent decades to water resources as a result of melting glaciers and differences in rainfall, and reductions in wheat and maize yields.

There has been a decrease in the number of people dying from the cold but an increase in heat-related deaths in some areas, such as England and Wales, the report suggested.

Species including fish stocks are shifting their ranges, coral reefs are being damaged and wildfires are becoming more frequent.

'Increased risk of flooding'-The report on the impacts of climate change said rising temperatures are expected to lead to increased risk of flooding, more droughts and heatwaves, drive species extinct and cause forests to die in many regions of the world.

Food security will be hit by reduced yields in the major crops of wheat, rice and maize, while climate change will also exacerbate existing health problems, and lead to more heat wave-related deaths, malnutrition and disease.

Increasing numbers of people are set to be displaced by extreme weather events, and the impacts of rising temperatures could help increase the risk of violent conflicts by worsening problems such as poverty, the report said.

Recent extremes such as heat waves, droughts, floods and wildfires show how vulnerable humans are to variations in climate, the study warned.

In Europe, there will be increased economic losses and more people affected by flooding in river basins and coasts, in the face of rising sea levels and heavy rainstorms.

Most of the flood damage can be avoided by measures such as flood defences, but the costs of increasing protection will be high.

Professor Sam Fankhauser, of the London School of Economics and a contributing author to the report said: "In the UK and the rest of northern Europe, we will need to cope with increasing risks from coastal and inland flooding, heat waves and droughts.

"The UK and all rich countries must also provide significant support to help poor countries, which are particularly vulnerable, to cope with the impacts of climate change."

http://www.rollingstone.com/greenland-melting 'The idea that soot can have a powerful effect on the melt rate of snow and ice is not new. The godfather of global-warming science, James Hansen, explored the idea in a paper published in 2003, arguing that if soot reduced the reflectivity of Arctic ice by just two percent, it had the same effect on the melt rate of the glacier as a doubling of CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere. What is new is Box’s attempt to link last summer’s Colorado and Canadian wildfires directly with the 2012 meltdown in Greenland – to make a direct connection between a particular fire and a particular melting event.

Marek Stibal, a biologist who is also with the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland, spent the day knocking around Kangerlussuaq, which is little more than an old military airfield at the edge of the ice sheets. Stibal was along to explore the radical notion that the dark-colored microbes that live on the surface of glaciers might have a significant effect on the reflectivity of the ice. And like soot, they may be accelerating the melt rate of the glacier. “I do not know if this is true,” Stibal tells me. “But I’d like to find out.” Box believes the microbes might in fact be feeding off phosphorus deposited on the ice from industrial air pollution – yet another way that humans are speeding the meltdown of the planet. With no fieldwork to do, Box and his videographer spend a few hours taping Box in front of a bridge that was washed out last summer by massive meltwater runoff from the glaciers.

knowing the many flavors of catastrophe the world faces as it rapidly warms. “I am a scientist – I try not to get emotional about it,” he said, although he admitted that one of the reasons he took the job in Denmark is because he believes it’s a safer place for his daughter, who is 21 months old, TO RIDE OUT THE STORMS OF THE FUTURE. “On the other hand, I don’t want to look back and say I didn’t do everything I could to help people understand the risks we all face.”

As it turns out, this summer, Greenland’s glaciers are heating up at a pace that’s substantially below last year’s record melt – a fact that Box says “just adds complexity” to what is going on in the Arctic. It will be months before he can analyze the ice cores and Stibal’s microbe samples to determine if they contain any important new insights. But good science is about meaningfully increasing the sum of human knowledge'

'polar vortex is moving across the USA.lAs many Americans are dealing with temperatures well below zero, the Right-wing media is pointing to the cold snap as so-called proof that global warming is a myth. What these conservative talking heads don't understand – or simply choose to ignore – is that global warming refers to rising average temperatures around the globe. The cold that we are experiencing right now is weather, and it does not disprove the fact that our world is getting hotter. In fact, these extreme, frigid temperatures hit the U.S. after the 2nd-hottest December since 1979 and the warmest November on record. Global warming is not going to eliminate winter in our nation any time soon, but the extreme highs and lows can lead to more extreme hurricanes, droughts, and - yes - even snow storms. Temperatures of 32 below zero in Fargo, North Dakota and negative 15 in Chicago don't disprove global warming, but they may be part of the larger pattern of weather "weirding" that we're experiencing because of climate change. It's time for the climate-change-skeptics to stop denying science, and start recognizing reality. The Right should stop wasting time trying to disprove climate change, and start helping us try to minimize its impact. Yes, it's bitterly cold outside, but overall our planet is getting warmer. Now, let's do something about it while we still have a chance.'
