wouldn't you agree?

Doesn't she realize that MOST PEOPLE are in debt and cannot afford to give money to them?
Why not give that kind of money to people here in America that are starving or homeless?
There's so much of the world outside of America it's impossible to save all of them.
We're not all rich debtfree Americans like politicians such as herself making 6 figure salaries.
Many people in the US live in crappy rundown homes and drive crappy cars because they don't have the money for repairs or new cars like she and other politicians have.
And this crap about celebrities helping them, those celebrities could easily help us instead. They're debtfree millionaires. It's hypocritical of them to say help Haiti when they won't help people here.
I'm not saying what happened in Haiti wasn't bad, it was bad and I feel bad for those people to, but when you help them only to ignore all the needy people here in the US, that's just wrong.
If your kid(America) is starving and so is your cousin(another country), as much as you love both you should take care of your own kid(America) before you take care of your cousin(another country).
She was a really good actress in that commercial, but now what can't she show that same type of sympathy and empathy for the millions of Americans having a hard time getting by?
It's hypocritical, you know.
I mean, America is not a rich country. If it was, every person here would be living it up and comfortably., and payday loan places wouldn't even exist in this country. Payday loan places say a lot about how not-so-rich America really is. It's pathetic. Nobody should be living paycheck to paycheck like that in America if America is supposed to such a rich country.

I might consider it once "someone" explains to me where some 600 million in previous aid went. Or like that Liberal George Clooney, who raised millions and then found out only 25% actually made it there. You don't see Bollywood jumping on this one, because even they know you can't provide an endless supply of money to a totally corrupt government.

Yeah! Isn't that a kick in the head! SHE wants US to donate money to the Haitians! Where are WE supposed to get the money from!? With the threat of OUR taxes going up next year, the cost of our own food already going up day by day, and SHE takes off on a trip to Spain, OUR money spent on HER! She's got a nerve!

Charity begins at home, our families first. For all the good it will do sending money to that island, the people aren't going to get the benefit of it! It's going right into the Haitian Government, never to be seen again! Those people have to help themselves! They are NOT part of the United States. Their Government has had time to do something about their sanitation problems, why should we worry about them if they can't make an afford to keep themselves clean!

I didn't see Obama going to Haiti and helping out like The Clinton's did! NO! HE stayed at home, nor did Michelle lift a finger! But they can travel around the world on OUR money trying to impress foreign countries we are still No.1, and coming back home with nothing!

Gosh, you sound awfully bitter. What's up? If America is no longer rich because people stopped living with what they could afford, as I grew up - meaning if you didn't save up for it and pay for it with cash, you didn't buy it. If America is so poor as you say we are, it's because we became totally spoiled, living beyond our means. Cut up those credit cards!

My parents came to this country after surviving Hitler. Nobody gave them food stamps, or credit cards. They worked, bought only what they could afford. No $100 sneakers, electronic toys, yada, yada.

Let's face it. we went from a great country to a bunch of spoiled brats. What the average American family throws in the garbage each day, children in other countries would prostitute themselves for. America has become a throw away society; so sad. Gee, something doesn't work, don't fix it, just throw it away and buy a new one. Foolish, all this talk about recycling. Years ago, everybody did it. Milk came in bottles; it was empty, you refilled it. Now you recycle all those plastic crap things. Any idea how many years it takes for all those plastic pampers to decompose?

A family of six when I grew up put out one small paper bag of garbage a week.

But the most important thing you have yet to learn: on this planet, we are all one. What we do affects all of humanity, and all future generations to come. Love thy neighbor.

The world poured its heart out to us during 911. And during Katrina.

Sorry, but if most people are in debt, it's their own damn fault for living beyond their means.

America is still a rich country. And giving money that they they don't really have, as you call it, is what makes you all the richer. That's what giving is all about.

I'm broke as a joke, yet I managed to donate $20 to the Haiti relief fund.

Nah. I may have been set back a little after donating that much...but the reason I gave that money was well worth it, and I felt pretty good about it. Hope I made some sort of difference.

Why wouldn't she its the compassionate thing to do and she can't make people donate.

Also from the answers about free health care those against think the homeless should fend for themselves any way so its not like charity begins at home.

She's not asking you to donate to Haiti. That's the Obama's new plan to get America out of debt without raising taxes. Keep in mind, all the money promised Haiti so far has been handed over to Bill Clinton do with as he pleases and none has gone to Haiti. So please everyone, don't get mad at the poor Haitians for using up all that money the US promised but never gave.

If your kid is starving in America, it is because you are refusing to feed him.

People might go to bed hungry in the US, but they aren't starving.
