Question:
Should the producers of the Anti-Islam film be sentenced to death?

You surely have heard about the Muhammed movie trailer. That trailer has caused one of the biggest world chaos I have ever seen on TV. Thousands of muslims attacked embassies, and at least 7 People have been killed.
Of course, in the United States everyone is entitled to the freedom of speech. But apparently the production of the film has gone too far with that freedom. So, would you sentence them to death by sending those film makers to one of those angry muslim people, and let the muslims do with producers whatever they want to? Or should they just be jailed for the misuse of their freedom of speech?

No, definitely not. Freedom of speech means we are allowed to say anything we want, and within those protected rights are the right to criticize other ideas, be they philosophical, religious, or political. There is NO such thing as "misuising" freedom of speech; once we put limits on what criticism is allowed and and limits to prevent others from getting offended, we alow extremists who want to silence our ideas and thoughts to win.

so no, it doesn't matter how brilliant or how ignorant a point of view is, no restrictions or punishments should ever exist for expression, speech and thought.

Im not sure which is the most amusing, the video or the spectacle of millions of people with an irrational belief running about in self destruct mode.

I was brought up in England when the Christian religion was accepted as part of normal life. Taking belief in a god out of the equation, it cannot be denied that the christian philosophy as a means to an ordered and just society is the reason why western democracy works. And the fanatical and literal following of one man's (a well known profit-pun intended), leads to the incarceration of innocents and the stoning heretics. I know we have been there and done that - but it was 400 years ago!

Yes they should be hanged, as should anyone who cannot follow the logic of my argument.

Latest news here in Oz suggests the Producers originated from the Middle East. The Actors claim they were duped, that the scripts that they used made no mention of Mohammed.

Suggesting their motivation was to deliberately cause the distress it has caused.

Not sure if "dead" is appropriate - but deliberately causing hate & fear & yeah I'm for a long jail sentence in less than favourable circumstances. None of these Western Countries where Prisoners get Internet access...

Americans in the United States non educationally don't know the differences between free speech or verbally discriminating hate speech. Nor are they ever educationally taught about cultural diversity or about cultural taboo's.

If they all did, there wouldn't be billions of angry Muslims globally protesting all over the world, with lit torches, sharpened pitch forks, maces and clubs. Burning American and Jew flag's and effigy's, all repeatably chanting in unison 'death to America'.

As for your second question, Americans in the United States all think it's their god given right, to be offensive towards foreign peoples, and their own citizens. Even removing their human, civil and diplomatic rights and freedoms from discrimination.

Americans don't care, or choose to care if the offend people nor who they offend. They are even barbarically suggesting to use nuclear weapons to bomb country's, that find them offensive.

The truth is American holier than thou attitude, has karmically bought this all on themselves. No allied country or citizens are going to be stupid enough to support Americans. To have a Jihad or Diyya placed onto them under the principle of Qisas. Just because Americans disrespectfully can't shut their mouths, and use common sense, not to offend people. Americans all even mocked and discriminated their President and Hilary Clinton for apologizing.

Nor realize that through there ignorance now have placed over eight million American citizens and their families living and working abroad, in countries all over the world. All at very high risk being easy targets, for anti American blowback. I'm not a Muslim or religious.

What your suggesting is we should give up our rights because people who use murder to defend their un-provable religious beliefs, which they deem to be more important than our rights in our own countries to question or even criticize ANYTHING!

What next ? should I give up my beliefs as a cameronist, where I believe in the righteousness of words and freedom of speech keeps the tyrants at bay. Simply because my god given right to question may result in some nutter wanting to murder people because the answers my prove their religion to be wrong and their beliefs to be unfounded.

Hell I also believe that Scotland is the heart of god and all other religions in my country are its enemy, But I have no intention in killing anyone. I do believe they should be booted out off politics and denied the right to vote or go into politics or have any say over my peoples right to be free and self governed.

Yet they Jews / Zionists have taken control the UK government, media and banks and the Muslims have their Sharia law & have more say over my country than I or my people do...... Hell its said that trail was made and backed by Jews ???

So why would you stop freedom of speech when the people of this country are the ones truly & daily being discriminated against by a bunch of war mongering Jews and murdering Muslims. Whose aim it is too shut you up and keep your beliefs down as they take over your courts and government....

Plus if you want to question my religion come ahead, though I fear If you question others you may find your head being served up on a plate …

Cameronissim is freedom and freedom of speech keeps the tyrants at bay…

We let them be free and protect them. This shows that we are a free country and have free speech.

The problem is not with the film. It could be a cartoon, a joke, or song about Muhammad. Those people are just crazy, and it is time everyone start calling them crazy. Stop being so respectful.

Apparently, American-style free speech is as much of a mystery to the British as it is to the mobs in the Middle East. Free speech means the government can't stop our protected speech. Criticizing religion is recognized as protected speech so the government can't do anything about it. Unlike England, India, and other third-world nations, we can say anything we like so long as we don't infringe upon the rights of others.

No. This is a painfully retarded statement on every level.

Furthermore the idea that anti-American protests were caused by that garbage movie trailer alone is ridiculously naive.

No. It is not the producers of the film who have gone too far -- plenty of more disgusting films have been made over the years -- but the protesters and more importantly, those who manipulate the protesters for their own purposes.

Don't you think that would set a dangerous precedent?

What if something happened that caused Americans to become ultra-conservative and somewhat theocratic? Don't you think there could be a witch hunt for liberals in Hollywood?

OR

What if something happened that caused Americans to become communist and anti-religious?

Don't you think there would be witch hunt for the religious people?

The most visible difference between Christians and muslims is the fact that Christians know they don`t have to take up for GOD , evidently the muslims believe that they are having to stand up for a god that is not powerful enough to stand up to earthy criticism on his own ?

So you are saying if you say something I don't like or post a youtube video I disagree with that I should be able to walk up to you, put a gun to your head and blow your brains out because another person that was looking for an EXCUSE to be violent was violent and murdered Innocent people and they claim it was your YA question that mad them do it.

The producer is one thing but my question is- who translated it, then intentionally released it on 9/10 to flame up specifically for 9/11? .. and will we ever know?

Do you have a link to the "alleged" video? I didn't think so. Because it never existed.

Just another handy excuse for moose-lims to kill Americans. Just like 911.
