Website ban list? Really? They are going to eventually make it so bad that using the internet will be so policed that it will be a ridiculous hassle. And we can't do anything about it. These people all have the same agenda no matter what party they claim to be a part of. This damn abomination of a bill has bipartisan support. They don't even ask the people if we want this. It's completely out of our hands. Why do these people get to decide where I can or cannot go online? Why can't I be free? Why can't there be a nation where people can live freely? Why can't we create a system where the people decide what should and should not be legal?

You dont understand that the blocking of websites and the monitoring your internet visits are under the Patriot Act of George Bush Admin.

This story is perverting the facts. What net neutrality is about is to prevent internet service providers from managing your web content. The government since 2001 monitors websites and shuts websites down for national security reasons and to catch terrorists. That part of the Patriot Act is still in force.

Net neutrality means that Internet users should be able to access any web content they want, post their own content, and use any applications they choose, without restrictions or limitations imposed by their Internet service providers.

In order for that to take place, "The U.S. House of Representatives recently introduced a “rogue websites” bill that has managed to attract bipartisan support even though it would force Internet Service Providers to create a list of banned websites and prevent users of those websites from accessing their sites......." (taken from the web site link you provided).

The bill does the opposite of what you think it does.

Roadrunner has it spot on. Our liberties and constitutional protections have been gradually eroded over the last century because the people at large care more about living in blissful, ignorant, pseudo-protection by the government than whether they will wake up one day and find that they need government approval for everything they want and need to do.

Because they've declared something illegal (certain content owned by corporations who pay for the politicians to get elected), and this makes it a criminal matter rather than the free speech it really is. So they can sick the FBI on you and sure 12 year old girls for 1 million dollars because hey, they need more money!

I've been warning about copyright crackdown for years but people were too busy sucking corporate c0ck to think it was going to affect them.

Well the internet is now kind of like the wild west. It does upset me when I get calls from my friends accusing me of sending them pornographic advertising because some loon has spoofed my email address and is sending spam out for a fake Canadian Pharma.

So racist talk show radio's can spew all the hate they want for free but us web server admins have to pay more taxes.

Things become unconstitutional not based on how much they follow the Constitution, they become that way based on how much the people care.

That would be violating 1st and kinda 4th amendment.
