you people willed this to happen... inflation is off the hook, the dollar isn't worth the paper it's printed on and we the people are the laughing stock of the free world because "you" voted that moron in again?

and now you want to talk spank about a Democrat congress after 12 years of a republican congress and 8 years of a Republican led executive and Judiciary...

are you just so partisan that you can't help yourselves or do you genuinely believe the crap you spin in here?

Let me explain Republican economics for you:

here's how it works.

The rich people have a banquet that you are not invited to---let's call that "the free market".

Once they have eaten all they can, vomited it out and then eaten more, they then wrap the leftoverswhich are impossible for them to consume further into the tablecloths, and after stuffing the silverware into their pockets, they drag the food out of the hall to freeze, bury and give to their friends.

Anything they drop, is yours.

This is also called "trickle down" economics, or "a stimulus package".

People vote republican for 3 reasons:

1. They are uninformed about the facts and what the party actually does, not realizing it directly hurts their own self-interests. Arrogance + Ignorance = Republican.

2. They vote against democrats for wedge issues (gun control, abortion, gays, etc)

3. They are incredibly rich and it's the smart thing to do if they are only concerned about getting richer.

The Republican agenda has been for the past 30years to de-regulate corporations (making consumers less safe, creating more loop holes to cause such problems as the mortgage crisis, etc), invest in a top to bottom tax system ("trickle down economics" that helps the rich get much richer, the middle class disappear and become poorer), reduce or completely take out import taxes (our jobs go overseas as a consequence) and have an aggressive foreign policy based on political interests of the corporations that helped pay the way for the politicians to get into office.

Republicans think the American dream is to get rich, no matter who suffers, countryman or not. Democrats believe in the original American dream of having a home, education, separation of church & state, etc. they want to protect civil liberties, level the playing field for monetary advancement and protect the country.

Regarding our dismal economy:

"The realization of a weaker economy is starting to hit home," said Kevin Giddis, managing director, fixed-income trading at Morgan Keegan & Co. Inc.

The market declines came as Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke spent a second day on Capitol Hill, with the Fed chief telling lawmakers that rising inflation is making his task more complicated."

The dollar is fine. The falling dollar helps the economy.

Global economics 101. The country with the weakest currency wins. And the country with the most innovation (the U.S.) keeps alive the countries that only know how to copy ( through the use of a devalued currency) .

The countries with the weakest currencies have the fastest economic growth. Japan purposefully devalued its currency for decades to gain U.S. marketshare in our automotive sector and our electronic sector.

China and India are currently devaluing their currencies. China had over a 10% GDP growth rate last year. And Russia's devalued currency is hurting the EU steel mills.

The key to America's future is spending money in research and development and at the same time prevent other countries from artificially devaluing their currencies. Those actions alone will increase job growth, improve the standard of living, reduce the need of social programs, reduce the national debt through tax revenue growth, etc..

In the long term a low dollar is actually good for America (as long as other countries don't artificially peg the dollar). A low dollar decreases the trade deficit, improves the economy, and increases tax revenue to lower the budget deficit. China has been enjoying the benefits of a weak currency for a decade. That is the only reason why China is doing so well. It actually sucks at productivity.

OMG, life is so horrible. Inflation is off the hook, the dollar is in the crapper, yadda yadda yadda.

Remember when Carter left office? Interest rates were off the hook, yet the dollar REALLY was in the crapper, gas was cheaper than $4.00/gal WHEN YOU COULD FIND IT... and didn't have to wait in a line four blocks long because the gas station was only open on Tuesdays and Fridays, and there was a complete freeze on government hiring. Now THAT was a recession.

Who says we're in a recession? The media, that's who. You doomsayers need to get a clue. It's a great time to buy a house right now because interest rates are so low, and the dollar is worth way more than money in most other countries in the world. Quit your b!tching and count your bless!ngs, man.

EDIT: YOU ARE A COMPLETE @SSHOLE, MAN. IF YOU WON'T LISTEN TO ME, LISTEN TO THE VOICE OF REASON ABOVE ME, OR GO TAKE A SIMPLE ECONOMICS CLASS SOMEWHERE. THIS IS NOT SPIN, THIS IS NOT LYING, THIS IS NOT SOME KIND OF CRAZY TAKE ON WHAT'S HAPPENING. TRUTHFULLY, I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY I BOTHER TRYING WITH QUESTIONS LIKE THIS, BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE GOING TO REFUSE TO LISTEN TO REASON, EDUCATION OR TRUTH ANYWAY. IF YOU CAN'T EVEN UNDERSTAND THE COMPARISON I MADE BETWEEN CARTER'S B.S. AND WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH THE ECONOMY NOW, THEN WHY DO YOU BOTHER TO ASK QUESTIONS ON HERE? LEARN TO READ ALONG WITH LEARNING ECONOMICS, WHY DON'T YOU? There. You've succeeded in pissing me off, and that's about it.

i became keen to respond to this yet your pastime numbers are SO fake (there have been are greater jobs further below Bush than misplaced, regardless of the pastime loses the final 9 months. the internet is larger than whilst Clinton left workplace.) We went to war in Iraq with the help of the Senate Congress and in help of the UN venture and sanctions. Any time the democrats wanted to kill the war they could pull the investment and the troops could be homestead in ninety days {the president can purely salary war or conflict for ninety days devoid of Legislative approval. The voted with Bush type sounds stable yet even ABC stated this to be fake {after the 1st debate George Stefanapolous {sp} the former Clinton help stated that's eighty two % and congress as an entire voted with Bush 87% you're making point out of "An administration that watch one thousand, and one thousand, of human beings go through and die in the time of typhoon Katrina" First Bush declared New Orleans a disaster zone 3 days previous to landfall, {that has in no way been performed in history} this freed up money to help the state. Governor Blanco a democrat (kicked out of workplace for a Republican) refused to sign the authorization that would have allowed the federal government to help. Bush could have been in violation of Federal regulation to usurp the state. He did deliver help by FEMA and different companies however the Mayor and Governor did little to help New Orleans (as a former resident enable me in basic terms say anybody that refused to evacuate as ordered bears the accountability for their very own life. The Superdome a shield of "final motel" did no longer have a million/3 of the folk during the typhoon because it did after... meaning people who chosen to experience it out of their very own properties and take a huge gamble placed themselves in risk. The Dome became evacuated as quickly as achieveable as quickly as the flood started and remember the Dome in no way flooded so if the folk were there there could have been far much less dying}. i'm unsure of your question yet shall we circulate previous the previous and in basic terms say this McCain is greater qualified to be President than Obama, McCain has greater adventure, a greater bipartisin music checklist, and is in basic terms the greater advantageous guy for the pastime. Obama is socialist in his questioning as is observed from the two certainly one of his books and is incorrect for usa of america. You sked for an honest reaction there that's VOTE McCain!

During those twelve years this Country enjoyed the most prosperous times since Ive been on this earth. You sound like a disgruntled Republican that hasn't gotten the hang of being a Democrat yet.
2008-02-28 19:03:15 UTC
Perhaps you'd like to go to a 3rd World Country

and try living with their economy. I dare say you'd

feel differently about Bush and America's economy

when you returned (and you definitely would return

if you didn't get your head chopped off first for being

an Infidel). Put your thinking cap on, sir, before you

keep bad-mouthing all the privileges, freedoms

(to blow your mouth), and blessings we all enjoy here

in America. Love it or leave it, the saying goes.

You sumed up everything Ive been saying into that question. I couldn't agree with you more. I wish we had more voters in America that had the same beliefs as we did and the nation would be in a better place.

actually we "liberals" didn't have to do a blasted thing---Bush dug a hole all by himself (but I digress).
