the muse that FDR and govt 'knew approximately it' is in basic terms one greater present day day made up 'conspiracy theory' 'city legend'. the administrative records of the era have long been available. The mistreatment of Jews in Germany was once good regarded for the period of the sector 1932-39. the U. S. took in greater Jewish immigrants than another for the period of that era. while warfare began Sept. 1939 guidance was once shrink off for a whilst despite if re-based 1940/40 one with guidance approximately the German information camp technique re: Dachau (in Germany) vilified in the U. S. media. The Nazi 'very final answer' did no longer start up till 1941 and the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union mid/ late summer season time that 12 months. the U. S. entered the conflict Dec. 1941 and that's govt heard 'rumors' of 'dying-torture factories' late 1942 and 1943 despite in the event that they weren't considered available or examined. by potential of summer season time 1944 with the U. S. and allied invasion of Europe, US troops have been ordered to look for such 'information camps' or 'dying factories'. They have been given right here to Dachau in west Germany 1st, and have been shocked and outraged (google Dachau liberation for how surprised they have been). Later in the 1st months of 1945 they, the allies, and Soviets uncovered the dying camps, and the 'final decision' (holocaust). The rumors of 1942/ 1943 proved worse than anybody imagined.
