30 inch long rats have been killed in Yorkshire, and that's just Yorkshire. There are 60 million rats living in Britain..... RATS not people LOL. That's one each for every man woman and child. But it looks like the good old EU is sticking it's unwanted weasely snouts into out business again and telling us how we can kill them.

When you find your rat, are you going to read the EU rules of RAT engagement before you kill it?

Uk rat invasion - what a load of rubbish. Typical tabloid scaremongering headline. The rat population in the British Isles has been high and probably increasing ever since the first trading ship arrived yonks ago.

At this moment, wherever you are in the UK, even if you live and work in a high rise building, there is probably a non-human rat within 19ft of you.

As for large rats, ask anyone who has been to sea or worked in ports and harbours and they will tell you that rats of that size are not as uncommon as the so-called experts think.

I take it there is no photo of this monster Rat? Could be scaremongering and I would take what I read from the Sun with a pinch of salt. That said the EU is just barmy enough with stupid legislation.

However on the subject of how big Rats can get, many years ago I used to go Ratting with my Jack Russel terrier, about 40ft away I saw a Rat that was easily the same size as my Dog with a tail perhaps a foot long in an old Quarry that was being filled with household rubbish. The dog went berserk to kill it but I just wouldn't let it go for it, it was Just too big. Perhaps the Yorkshire Rat was a cain Rat.

Doing a Little research I found that It may just have been a Cain Rat or ,Gambian pouched rat, a jungle species of West Africa that could have been smuggled in as an exotic pet or for food, escaped somehow and found itself in a rubbish dump. As for over sized native Rats, its not impossible I have seen some really big ones.

Anyone questioning the size of these rats should actually look at the link.

A friend of mine told me of a big rat in their garden in South London about three or four weeks ago that had attacked a pet. I'd forgotten all about it until I read this. They had to beat it off with a stick. It wouldn't let go. I didn't believe them. When I asked them just how big was this 'huge' rat and just what had they been smoking. They said it was about the size of a large cat. I didn't believe them. I remember saying, " you might get rats the size of a cat in India or New York but not in London".

Now it appears that they were telling the truth and I've an apology to make.

These rats are not natural. I think that they've escaped from some genetics lab and now they're breeding. A vision of the future. As far as the EU rules of engagement? I'll wait until some of their large cats escape and let them fight it out.

If prove was needed, it has finally been confirmed, that the Rats in Brussels are concerned about the welfare of their brother rats.

These "brain dead" individuals who are milking us to death and are allowed to do so, actually find the time to make a law, yes a LAW, that we have to give rats an honourable burial.

The directive says that the most effective rat poison, used as bait, can only be placed in special metal or plastic containers.

However, rats do not like these metal or plastic containers (because it leaves a bad taste in the mouth, (lol)

May I suggest, that the rats get together with the ones in Brussels and have a family reunion (lol)

Ps Nice to have you back, my friend.

Why take any notice of EU rules. The rest of Europe don't. Just ignore these pests and get on with life.

Well personally I like rats, but I do not like the EU....SO perhaps we can lay down some poison for those mischievous little mice in Brussels.

I'd whack 'em with a spade...EU officials that is...rats are preferable to those interfering vermin.
