Why do left wingers keep forgetting it was Clinton who first told us about Saddam's WMD and attacked in 1998?

No WMD were ever found in Iraq during Clinton's entire presidency.

Yet here he is, talking as if he's positive Saddam has WMD, and he's so sure of it he's launching a military attack over it:

There is NO PROOF that there were ever WMD in Iraq during Clinton's presidency.

Clinton did not invade Iraq. Bush did.



The issue was whether there were WMDs in Iraq at the time that Bush wanted to invade.



The UN inspectors in Iraq were not finding any. They begged for more time to complete their inspections. They were forced to leave because Bush was invading.



What about that do you not understand? Why are cons constantly trying to blame Clinton for Bush’s invasion?



Edit: Every time you cons bring up this Clinton excuse it just reminds everyone how determined Bush was to invade and what a horrible act he committed that cost thousands of lives unnecessarily. We are also still paying for that very expensive war.



You might also review the PNAC attempts to get Clinton to invade Iraq. He refused. Oil was a major factor in the PNAC thinking. Saddam had shut out the American oil companies from consideration for future contracts. The PNAC neocons in the Bush administration finally got their way.



Bush is responsible for what Bush did – not Clinton, not Obama, not Democrats in Congress, not any other entity on whom you would try to foist the blame for Bush's actions.

Bush ordered the UN weapons inspectors out of Iraq so he could start bombing! Even though Saddam was complying with the UN resolutions at the time!

Actually, I believe that it was the first Bush who brought his name up, but he had to be careful because he knew, having been head of the CIA, that we had sent him the WMD's to fight Iran when he started a war with them. But what Clinton said in the 90's was just as irrelevant as the fact that Republicans were not the ones who started the KKK 150 years ago. We knew better before we invaded.
