Question:
To those who continue to say Iraq was a needless war-how do you justify Clintons actions in the 90s?

While Bill Clinton was President he launched countless airstrikes against Iraq over his 8 years in the White House. There were even a couple incidents where things got so heated that we actually came close to going to war with Iraq back around 97-98. His justification was that Iraq was harboring WMD, Iraq was a threat to the rest of the world, Iraq was blocking UN inspectors from doing their job and Iraq was firing on NATO/American planes which were enforcing the No Fly Zones in Iraq. Clinton was supported in these actions by many Democrats who are in congress now. These are the very same damn reasons that people say Bush lied about to go to war. So they were lies when Bush said them but the truth when Clinton said them? Back then Clinton was backed by the likes of Ted Kennedy and Joe Biden who agreed that Iraq was hiding WMD and was a threat to America, now Bush is called a liar by the same people when it comes to this same issue.
For those who say i am making this up-here is a website which breaks down many confrontations in between Iraq and America during the 90s.

Shame on you Zorak! you know that the liberals have very short memories when ot comes to the actions of other Democrats and giving them facts confuse them. You'll drive them back to their kool-aid bottles for a chug before yelling at you! I'm guessing even though they always want a link(can't figure this stuff ot on their own) they will to narrowed mined to really go there and read what it says.

That said you're right, but that just don't count ! It messes up their picture of the world !

Bush never admitted he was wrong because he wasn't, ad far as all out bombing them the typical Democrat talks crap drops a bomb and runs like hell! We don't get democrat presidents that have any balls to stand up like Bush or Reagan and tell the world screw with us and we will blow your butts away!

To go from launching cruise missiles and air strikes to a full scale invasion is quite a jump. You can not compare the two militarily. The logistics required are different. The amount of military personal needed are far greater for what Bush did then compared to what Clinton did. It was a war of choice, in military terms we had Saddam pinned down.

Because Iraq was not a direct threat to us... Bush Cherry picked the inelegance that made the case for war worked to silence anyone that didn't agree with his trumped up case for war with Iraq- (Clark, Willson, ect...)

Also Clinton didn't launce a full scale invasion/ occupation that has lasted longer than WWII at an expense of 4000+ US GI's lives and $12Bill per month

Clinton did what he did because he was stupid enough to be blakmailed by the jews.

Now if clinton had said no - the jews would have told him - do you want us jews to tell the americans about the drugs you allowed to be distributed through MENA airport in arkansas while you were the governor?

Thats us why Clinton did what he did.

The jews told him to attack iraq - becasue the jews hated iraq and they wanted saddam dead.

If Clinton did not do it - the whole world would know about the drug running that he allowed to happen.

Bosnia - needless, and a European problem

Kosovo - A bit harder, I was at Ft. Dix when the refugees came in, it personalized the issue for me so I'm less objective

Haiti - needless

Somalia - left over from Bush Sr. - but boy he f'd it up

No fly Zones - left over from Bush Sr.and lasted right up until the Shrub invaded

BTW I think every Democrat who supported Bush's invasion of Iraq should have to serve a year in country in a foxhole with a Republican chickenhawk.

I don't remember Clinton going to all out war with Iraq and bombing all the major cities and killing tens of thousands of Iraqis. But maybe I just missed it.

Those wars were absolutely pointless as well. However, the Iraq War was a more major fuckup because of the amount of death and destabilization that has occured because of it.

how long has it been now, 7 years and over 4000 US lives lost. Do you ever think about the soldier and their family and the soldier that survives to return home to with disabilities, missing limbs or face malfunctions. think about someone other than yourself Rs. Just bring our guys home and have them to guard/protect our borders. How much is it costing each month... we can use the money here in America.

While your sources may be true, the war we have been in for the past few years was started by Bush. It was fueled by bad information from his trusted advisors. He has never admitted he was wrong.

The Bush haters don't want to hear facts - it's a psychological thing. The news media and liberals started their campaign for Bush regime change with Abu Ghraib "torture" stories. There's more torture in reading the NY Times than went on at Abu Ghraib - ask McCain about torture. The media finds a pimple on a Republican president, then picks at it until it's infected with gangrene - how else could a Democrat get elected ?

Simple, it was wrong with clinton & it's wrong with bush.

Isn't that why you're NOT in iraq fighting today?

No, Iraq was not a threat to anyone, especially us. They were not firing on our planes and bush had no legit reason to invade. His reasons were all proved false since we invaded.
