Wasn't Bill Clinton more like JFK than Obama ever has been?

JFK was beloved by many, this is why I think the campaign tried to draw these parallels, but Clinton in my estimation was far more like JFK.
What are your thoughts?

Not enough parallels to JFK for either one, but yes Clinton was more JFK like. Coyote is right, JFK's popularity grew after he was assassinated. Of all the presidents after JFK, Reagan was more like JFK.

JFK policies were much more conservative in principal than Clinton or Obama. Clinton was left of center. Obama is far left of center. JFK and Clinton were both found out to be guilty of adultery. All 3 presidents promoted increased government spending for social programs. All enjoyed popularity with the country and the press.

Neither Clinton or Obama has as much in common with JFK as some people would like to think. JFK was a combat veteran and had some serious problems with the FED. JFK was a much different type of person than either Clinton or Obama.

Seldom in my life have I heard any criticism of JFK. In our culture, we don't speak ill of the dead. JFK has been sainted and I wonder how much is even deserved. But not everyone loved him, including many Republicans in that day. Doesn't mean they wished him assassinated. Of course, by today's standards, he was practically a Republican, but that is just because of how far left the Democrat party has slid. Obama is just one more slide to the far left and since Clinton was to the right, I guess he's more like JFK was. But I could rattle off a lengthy list of things Clinton did wrong, and so could any other Republican with a memory.
gilliegirl, I will be the first to admit I rarely listen to "conservative mouthpieces." I have been a conservative my entire life, have been in and around conservative political circles for many years, am a 42 year old attorney and have gotten out plenty. Thanks for your concern.

Other than liking the ladies, Clinton and Kennedy couldn't have been further apart. Oh, and JFK had great taste in women.
Obama doesn't have JFK's experience or clarity in foreign affairs or Clinton's political instincts.

I think Obama is like JFK and Clinton also. Obama is working for the little guy, just like JFK and Clinton. Obama and Clinton are alike in that the republicans vowed to get rid of both of them after they won the election.
I'm not sure about JFK...but I imagine the republicans gave him a fit too. So, Obama is doing something right!

No. JFK was bold. Clinton wasn't.
Clinton enjoyed one of the greatest peace time economic booms in American history, due to the birth of a new industry, namely the internet. Dot.coms.
Yet Clinton did nothing great with that opportunity. He could have reformed Social Security and Medicare. He had 8 whole years to resolve Iraq, which he inherited. He could have done real bi-partisan health care reform. The GOP worked with him when he worked on bi-partisan issues like welfare reform or NAFTA.
Basically, Clinton's presidency was a do nothing presidency. He did little and rode the the wave of the dot.com economic boom.

Yes.
But NEITHER Clinton or Obama even compares with JFK.
JFK was a very bad person, Clinton is Evil, and Obama HATES America.
But.......... JFK, like Reagan and Bush, gave All Taxpayers a Tax Cut.

The campaign never tried to draw those parallels-it was the media. I defy you to find even one piece of campaign literature making that association.
My thoughts? I couldn't give a d**n who is or isn't "like JFK". I live in the 21st century.
"Clinton in my estimation was far more like JFK"-in what way? What are your "thoughts"?
**EDIT**
"thank you blue dogs", and Bush screwed both the US and Iraq simultaneously! Way to go Georgie boy!
**EDIT**
"bigmike...", I seem to recall President Obama urging Americans to go out and volunteer to improve their communities and their nation. You know, along the lines of "ask not what your country can do for you..."
**EDIT**
"ruth", you need to get out more. You "seldom" hear criticism of JFK? How about from nearly every conservative mouthpiece or talking head until they recently felt compelled to elevate him in order to attempt to make President Obama look bad? How very convenient, wouldn't you say?

If you do a quick check on JFK, you will find he was, dare I say it, a Conservative Democrat!! There, I said it!! He was one of the first to give tax cuts to the working people and if you remember his speech, " Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."
Neither Clinton nor Obama would make a pimple on JFK's backsides. JFK was a real man, a real leader and could have gone far as our leader.
Clinton raped the military and cut them down to a shadow of their former self and well, the jury is still out on Comrade Obama

JFK, Clinton, and Obama were more interested in the country, and it's citizens than any republican was during the years from 1960 to the present time.

Yes, Clinton and JFK were both womanizers that ran around on their wives while they were in the White House.

John F. Kennedy was Clinton's idol.
Both were shady characters, it got Kennedy killed.
Obama is turning out to be a lot like Nixon.

Maybe with the affairs. But Clinton never brought us close to a nuclear war, he was more prone to invading third world countries.

Yes. To my knowledge Obama doesn't have tons of mistresses, links to the mafia, nor a bunch of question marks all over his finances.
JFK was like Michael Jackson. He was criticized and ridiculed until he died. Then he was loved.

In my book, Bill Clinton was one of the best US presidents. Barack Obama only been a president for 9 month of so.

I like Obama much more than I ever liked Clinton. Clinton was a creepy, kind of weaselly Reagan-lite.
JFK was not so popular when he was alive as he was after he died.
