USA threatened to bomb Pakistan back to the stone age if they did not co-operate?
Surely this is not the way a civilised, democratic country behaves?

Yes, I saw that interview too... the USA threatened to bomb Pakistan back to the "Stone Ages" if they failed to co-operate... they really are a dispicable nation and then they raise their hands to the skies in wonder and surprise how anyone would want to fly planes into their buildings...

When you hear that their government has done this, you can feel very little empathy with its people... as its government is truly reflective of its people.

The US was, is and will always remains the world thugs. If Musharaf was democratic elected and has a strong public support like Iran, Bush would never dare to threaten them!

While I detest the current American administration and its foreign policies,Pakistan is dangerous.President Musharraf is no doubt playing both sides.

Pakistan was caught selling nuclear technology. The head of their nucler programme was blamed, apparently it was without the knowledge of the Govt. That's treason.Musharraf gave him a slap on the wrist and told him not to do it again!

The bombings in London on July 7 2005.All the bombers were from which country?....Pakistan.

An alleged bomb threat has recently been thwarted by British intelligence. All the people arrested were from which country?....Pakistan

The Taliban are currently staging something of a revival in Afghanistan. They are known to have training camps in which country?....Pakistan

I would not be surprised if we eventually find out that this is where Osama Bin Laden is hiding because he almost certainly is not in Afghanistan.

Musharraf is dangerous.

Probably true, although this was un-authorized statement by Armitrage. This man is the same person who give the name of FBI agent out to the news media. If the statement by Musharaff is true then the Bush White House needs to ask the Justice Department to investegate and if guilty, he should go to jail.

Immediately post 9/11, Pakistan was not our ally. At that juncture, they had the choice of joining the hunt for Bin Laden or taking his side. They joined us, and we responded by dropping sanctions against them. Sounds good to me, but I'm still convinced that Pakistan's ISI knows EXACTLY where Bin Laden is.

Yes, but America is none of these things, and therefore, yes, the American are indeed the thugs, in this case and most every other act of foreign policy they make.

They are also dumb bastards...

Do you think that your way of life - and all the freedoms you have - are protected by gentlemen having a chat over a cup of tea?

Ultimately, the freedom / interests of the west are protected by massive fire-power and hard talk. There are real enemies out there. So dont pontificate as if the US has done something wrong..
