-In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. This doesn't include the 30 million 'Uncle Joe' starved to death in the Ukraine.
-Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, leaving a populace unable to defend itself against the Gestapo and SS. Hundreds of thousands died as a result.
-China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, 1-2 million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-Gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results:
Australia-wide, homicides went up 3.2 percent
Australia-wide, assaults went up 8.6 percent
Australia-wide, armed robberies went up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent

It works all right, if your goal is to enslave or kill undesirable parts of your population.

I just wonder why you ask conservatives. Here is what you are up against. In reading the Second Amendment one realizes whether he accepts it or not that any gun control legislation is actually unconstitutional. For those that need to be told that means its illegal.

Many of the same founder who wrote, passed and ratified the Second Amendment also wrote and ratified the Constitution of the United States. Within the Constitution they included the Amendment process. The Amendment process is how you would have to change the Constitution so that gun control legislation could be legal. All you have to do to realize this is read it and understand.

So you harp on the benefits all day every day but no one ever writes the amendment. Once an amendment is written it needs to pass both houses of congress by a 2/3 vote. When that has been accomplished it need to go to the states for ratification. It needs to be approved by 3/4 of the states in order to amend the constitution.

This process is for amending a ratified constitution. That means that at least 3/4 of the original states and all of those joining the union later have ratified the constitution to be the law of the land. The amendment process is designed to assure that any amendment is the will of the people and the states. States are represented in the Senate and people are represented in the House of Representatives.

Every day someone like you comes here to rail at conservatives about gun control and their failure to accept your point of view. It does not matter if your point of view is valid nor superior. That is the way it has to be done. That is for all laws. Other people dislike some of the laws you respect so this method protects you from them. Get used to it.

This is a slippery slope argument that is untrue. We have to register our automobiles nobody is coming by to take them away. But when mentally deranged people can get firearms easy and hurt a lot of innocent people, it does show a system that needs some changing.

The bad guys prefer unarmed victims!!.

When seconds matter calling 911 and asking the bad guy to wait is not a viable option.

Better to have a gun and not need it than to need it and not have it!!!

**Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime after it happens.**
