Question:
If someone subjected GW Bush to waterboarding for an extended period... would he THEN call it "torture"?

"According to Republican United States Senator John McCain, who was tortured as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam, waterboarding is "torture", "no different than holding a pistol to his head and firing a blank" and can damage the subject's psyche "in ways that may never heal.""

as you can see the 29 Percenters who frequent this site have absolutely no problem with America torturing terrorist SUSPECTS. in their vile little minds being a SUSPECT is the same thing as being guilty so it's okay to torture a SUSPECT into admitting guilt whether he is guilty or not..

these torture supporters are as morally bankrupt as the corrupted and conniving administration they support.

PS. i bet many of these torture supporters call themselves Christian. WWJT? who would Jesus torture?

The bigger question is how long the sheeple and the congress are going to allow bush to torture and abuse the constitution and the laws of the US.

Our "War President" is so tough, he would call an extended period of testifying under Oath to the 9/11 Commission (without Cheney there to hold his hand) "torture".

He was once "tortured" by a pretzel. Since that time, the Marines were deployed to Pennsylvania Dutch Country, where civilian casualties are heavy, but not considered 'sexy' enough news to warrant reporting (this is sarcastic irony, before any cons scream about me lying to the US about secret operations in Amish country).

An APPROPRIATE torture George Bush would consist of mildly tazering him every time he mispronounces the word "nuclear", or mangles the English language in ways NO Yalie could ever own up to ("misunderestimated"? Has Yale suffered enrollment problems since Bush became their spokescheerleader?)

How many people will you let die so as not to offend the people that are going to kill you?

Of all the views McCain I do respect because he knows more than anyone else running for president.

I know we are fighting a different war now.

Vietnam didn't kill 3000 people on 9/11.

The war is here.

I look like this.

If a terrorist in front of me had the knowlege to save the lives and all I had to do was pull the trigger of a gun near his ears.

That is when the rubber hits the road my friend.

We can sit and think in our comfortable place oh I won't do that.

If we are put in that position and it was for real I wonder how high and mighty we all would act.

We used to call countries using torture as brutal backward countries. Now the US is doing the same ..Certainly North Vietnam Had reasons of their own to torture prisoners coming from overseas to fight them. Now the US has its own reasons too.The bottom line is Brutality wins.Humanity is still losing .

we should do unto others what we want done to our selves.

if one of our fellow citizens or soliders experienced things like waterboarding we'd be outraged.

if it would outrage us, we shouldn't do it to others.

torture won't help us anyway. people will confess to anything while being tortured. we will only commit a crime- both moral and legal- and be lied to.

Of course, its outrageous. Filthy dirty politicians. What a bunch of crooks. Look up the criminal record for the house of representatives and the senate. These guys don't do victimless crimes, they victimize people on a regular basis.

They have grossly usurped their powers by intimidating Congress into enacting the Patriot Act, decimating Habeas Corpus and due process by illegally detaining Jose Padilla [an American citizen] for three years, and violating virtually everything for which the Bill of Rights stands by illegally detaining, torturing and murdering accused terrorists at Abu Gharib, Guantanamo Bay, and other undisclosed locations around the world.

They violated Posse Comitatus in New Orleans and have since stated their intention to crush it by deploying US military personnel on a wide scale in future domestic disasters.

They have consistently rewarded or promoted those members of their Royal Court who have committed criminal or grossly incompetent acts.

They have pillaged the public Treasury, dispersing tax monies to their cronies and collaborators in their corrupt schemes. They have created an astronomical national debt which will hang from the necks of future generations as a millstone of astounding proportions.

They have virtually relieved themselves and their wealthy compatriots of their tax obligations. In so doing, They have placed the burden of filling the public coffers on the backs of those who benefit least from their governance [the Poor and Middle Classes].

They have financed and enabled the ruthless Israeli colonial occupation of Palestinian territory, and have allowed elements closely aligned with the radical Likud to shape their foreign policy decisions, particularly in the Middle East.

I agree that it's torture by any definition. During Bush's presidency, the bottom has dropped out of the logic pool, and the ethics pool.

By the way, you look like My Name Is Earl. Ever hear that?

No - he'd declare those who did it enemy combatants, extraordinarily rendite them to some third world country, use "enhanced interrogation techniques" on them until they agreed they "tortured" him in writing, ship them to Gitmo, and if a lawyer ever got to see them, he'd gag them under the patriot act, claim executive privilege, destroy all the emails related to the case, delay and obstruct the congressional investigation, and ride out his time in office all the while fighting to keep his presidential records sealed forever.

You libtraitors need to learn that WAR is HELL !

I don't know why you continually support people that would saw off your head because you aren't their religion.

Bush has no brain, thus, torture would be useless on him.

knowing you call yourself a true Patriotic American is a torture to any American.
2007-10-07 09:13:18 UTC
Our gangs here do worse than that.

What a shame all you focus on are petty things, when we have to win this war.
2007-10-07 09:12:37 UTC
Leave President Bush alone! Leave him alone! After all he's been through! That's why his new song is called "Gimme More" because all you people want is more! more! more! more! Leave him alone! He's human! Leave him alone!
2007-10-07 09:12:06 UTC
Yet another reason you don't want to start a terrorist war with America.
