Trump says that Asian Americans are targeted using nasty language. Will you stop calling the corona virus, a Chinese virus?

Unless it suddenly didn't begin in China, no.

If this virus really gets going in South East Asia and the Chinese scapegoating grows and grows there will quite possibly be genocidal attacks on Indonesians and Malaysians of Chinese ethnicity.

Especially in Java.

During almost every crisis in Indonesia there are attacks on ethnic Chinese. 600,000 were killed in 1966 when Sukarno fell and tens of thousands were killed in the 90's during the Asian Economic crisis and the fall of Suharto.

This is another year of living dangerously for the whole world.

What your leaders say is important.

Its the new coronavirus that originated in Wuhan China. Thats an important scientific fact that scientists are using to better understand it and its spread.

Lets not deny reality.

Trump said that a little late after he himself encouraged the racists by using the term.  Then, when questioned about it, Trump defended what he was doing.

He finally came around to acknowledging that Asian Americans were being targeted.  Trump finally began advocating what decent people had been encouraging him to do.

I never called it the "Chinese Virus," knowing full-well how such language would fuel racism, discrimination and hatred of Asian-Americans. I wish Trump had known that, too. He started that sh*t.

Well, whatever changed his mind / behavior, I guess that is a good thing.

But it is a Chinese virus. But there is no blame to be laid upon Asian Americans in this regard, just those select nasty people in mainland China.
