That would be a wonderful thing to see people evolve beyond traditional wars and to settle their differences in other ways. It may look silly on the surface, but it makes a world of sense in other ways.

The problem is that there will be war as long as people think they have a right to take other people's rights, freedoms, and property from them just because they can. People have been fighting over religious differences, national origin, and God knows what else for as long as humans have existed. It will never stop until people come to understand that every one of us has a right to live unmolested by others, as long as we do not use our freedom to infringe on the rights of others.
