Question:
Are liberals proud that 47 million+ are on food stamps?

This is the highest level of all time since the program was enacted. Why is it that liberals refuse to blame Obama for his involvement in driving our economy into the doldrums with out-of-control spending and tax increases under Obamacare? Do liberals really think that we can spend our way out of recession and into prosperity?

You need to ask the conservatives that got us here and created the situation were so many are on food stamps - like 21% of military families.

As for spending you ignore the fact that Obama has reduced the budget deficit for the last 4 yrs running.

Spend our way out of a recession not but we sure can make enough cuts, suggested by conservatives, that drive us into one.

So, what, you'd rather have them starving? Blams Wal-Mart if you want to blame anybody. Several million of those food stamp users work there. It's not a dem/rep thing, though. Both parties have been complicit in the destruction of the middle class. I just don't get where you think this is Obama's fault. It's been going on since Reagan.

Gateway pundit isn't a newsource.

Elliott..getting all of those people onto food stamps was only step one. The next step will be to deliver the food directly to each home. Only healthy foods will be delivered. This in turn will improve the populations health and reduce costs for socialized medicine.Reducing costs for healthcare will cure the deficit problems freeing up money to fund social projects abroad. Once foreign goverments learn we are nice people we can disband our military and live in peace and harmony with nature.

I am not proud that the GOP deregulated the financial industry, allowing all of the crooked shenanigans and poisoned-investment selling to take place that caused the global financial collapse.

The global economic collapse led DIRECTLY and DEMONSTRABLY to increases in the roles of our social safety net programs, which is EXACTLY what a non-idiot would expect to find. Only an idiot would expect to find that our roles would have decreased during the economic turmoil. That just defies good sense.

Ask Big Business.

they are the ones supporting food stamps.

Currently, there are few restrictions on what can be purchased with Food Stamps, other than alcohol and prepared foods

"Here's where the profits come in," Nestle says. "A vast percentage of Food Stamps' money goes into the pockets of soda companies and snack food companies...and also the stores that sell these foods."

Wal-Mart "gets a large fraction of Food Stamp dollars," which contributes 25% to 40% of revenue at select stores, according to Nestle. "These companies, therefore, have a vested interest in making sure Food Stamps are allowed for any purchase at all."

Funding for Food Stamps comes from the Farm Bill, which is currently being debated in Congress. "You can bet the food companies like it just the way it is and they are lobbying" to prevent restrictions on how Food Stamp dollars are spent, Nestle says.

Citing a recent report by public health lawyer Michele Simon at EatDrinkPolitics.com, Nestle recently made the following observations on her blog about "some of the politics behind efforts to maintain the status quo":

•Food industry groups such as the American Beverage Association and the Snack Food Association teamed up with anti-hunger groups to oppose health-oriented improvements to SNAP.

•Companies such as Cargill, PepsiCo, and Kroger lobbied Congress on SNAP, while also donating money to America's top anti-hunger organizations (who fear any changes to the Food Stamps program will result in benefit cuts).

•At least 9 states have proposed bills to make health-oriented improvements to SNAP, but none have passed, in part due to opposition from the food industry.

•Coca-Cola, the Corn Refiners of America, and Kraft Foods all lobbied against a Florida bill that aimed to disallow SNAP purchases for soda and junk food.

•Banks and other private contractors are reaping significant windfalls from the economic downturn and increasing SNAP participation.

"The point here is that banks that administer SNAP have a vested interest in keeping SNAP enrollments high and makers of junk foods have a vested interest in making sure that there are no restrictions on use of benefits," she writes.

You should be asking this question to those who made our country "needy"...who stripped our jobs and outsourced them...who pay less to immigrants and those overseas to do our jobs...leaving no alternative but to seek help....get a clue about what you are promoting because your facts are out of whack....and reality is slapping all of us in the face and are tired of being portrayed in this manner...so stop pretending the poor put us in this situation when anyone with a working brain in their head knows that GREED made us dependent today.......

Liberals are very happy. They think that their communist utopia will finally come true when everyone is on foodstamps. But they are delusional because as they kill off the successful and job creators in our society they are killing the golden goose that laid the golden eggs that funded all those millions of slackers and non producers.

Producers are good at creating wealth.

Unfortunately Liberals are only good at taking wealth away from people.

When they are in charge of creating wealth they fall flat on their communist faces and we all suffer for it.

I guess the economy will pick right back up as soon as enough people starve to death. Damn all those pesky people who don't have jobs anymore because of out-sourcing and deregulation!!!!!

Today's Liberals don't understand what Welfare is supposed to be. It's supposed to allow people who lose their jobs to recover by giving them enough support to sustain them until they get on their feet again. However Obama Administrations hands out money to anyone who doesn't work, even if they have never worked in their lives and never intend to.

Say 'CHEESE'. Government cheese that is. They will give up all their freedoms as long as the government gives them a few crumbs that fall from the table. Able bodied people standing in line for a loaf of bread. Pitiful. Do people realize the amount of money these politicians (the Potentate included) actually have? B. Hussein dogs the rich while he, himself, banks wads of cash. What the heck! The economy goes to crap. More people are going broke. The media never reports the facts. People go to jail for 'saying' or 'thinking' things that go against the system. People report their neighbors. Children report their parents. Children are programmed at school........All in the name of 'Fairness' we hurl ourselves like Lemmings off the cliff. How utterly stupid! They want us to think with a 'collective' mind like a friggin' Borg! No individualism allowed here. Reminds me of some place not so long ago called Germany.

The question is meaningless talking point garbage, especially since it quotes a report that came out of Jeff Sessions office.
