Question:
Does the new video proof of time-traveling have an effect on the political landscape?

really, i just wanted a way to ask my question about the new time-traveler video in the Politics Section, where people actually answer...

if you haven't seen the video yet, a Hollywood studio recently released some video shot outside of a building where a Charlie Chaplin film was being made. the video is from the 1920's and in black and white, yet a woman is seen walking through the shot using a cell phone that looks like it is from today's time....

of course, if it really were a time traveler, its not like she could call people in different times with her phone. but then again, it IS the future.. who knows. maybe its an extra-terrestrial communicating with the mother ship lol. more down-to-earth explanations don't seem to make sense though.. how in the world could a woman in the 1920's be talking on a small cell phone? any theories??

see the video here... (its a Yahoo link)

@ Jacob

Well if this person and her group were smart enough to time travel... what makes you think she can't communicate with them via cell-phone? If the technology they are using is that advanced... it seems quite possible that they could use a cell-phone like apparatus to communicate. NOTHING is impossible and science slowly but surely is corroborating that notion.

That video and any reference to it is a sad commentary on the lack of logic most people are apparently afflicted with. How could anyone in the 1920's be using a cell phone even if they traveled back in time with it? There were no Cell Towers, Cell Networks or any of the rest of the Vast infrastructure that makes cell phones function.

Obviously, a hoax to anyone with the ability to reason.

@"well it's not like they cgi'ed the cell phone lady".

The video is from an old movie set. You think it's a coincidence the video is coming straight out of the hands of people involved in the motion picture industry? People who CGI for a living....

I think time travel will have a vast impact on the political landscape. Who should be allowed to time travel and to what time should they be allowed to go to? Should it only be used by the wealthy or should it be given to the people? Should there be a time travel tax? Only time will tell.

Wait, you mean people are really taking that seriously? Time travel is only possible in one direction, forward. Time travel to the past is absolutely impossible.

Jacob nailed it. She could be simply covering her face because she was hurt or wanted to hide from the camera. Maybe she's holding something else entirely. Besides, traveling backward in time simply isn't possible. A decent understanding of physics makes it obvious.
