Has Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) failed in his role as Speaker of the House of Representatives?

According to polls taken before the November 2010 elections, the US House had an approval rating of around 12%. At that time, the House Speaker was Democrat Nancy Pelosi of California, and Dems held 257 House seats (218 is a majority).

Then the Dems were wiped out, and the GOP gained 63 seats, ending up with 242 total. John Boehner was elected Speaker by the new GOP majority.

Since then, the approval ratings of the US House have actually DROPPED - they are around 9% - and there is a real danger that the GOP could lose its majority in November 2012. This will happen if they lose 25 or more seats.

How did John Boehner fail so massively? He has done even worse than Nancy Pelosi - and in only two years! It took Pelosi four years to lead her party to defeat.

Also, why did the GOP pick John Boehner to begin with?

Yes like the rest of the GOP he seems intent on bringing down the economy to hurt obama and the biggest peace of evidence is the debt crisis debacle and throwing a tantrum about the payroll tax cut

BUT another thing to note is that his OWN PARTY doesn't even like him anymore. the tea party republicans especially the freshman in the house LOVE eric cantor and if they had to vote for speaker again all of them would choose cantor over boehner.

Boehner needs to stop crying and get his act together and like president obama, he needs to show that he gives a **** about us

HE ALSO PROMISED TO CUT THE BUDGET DEFICIT BUT LAST TIME I CHECKED THE DEFICIT WAS STILL HIGH. ATLEAST OBAMA WAS WILLING TO TAKE HEAT FROM HIS PARTY BY MAKING CUTS TO SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, AND MEDICAID IN ADDITION TO REVENUE INCREASES BUT BOEHNER ONCE AGAIN CRIED WHEN HE HEARD THE WORDS TAX AND INCREASE. "NO YOU CAN'T DO THAT!! THOSE ARE JOB CREATORS!! I AM AWARE THAT MANY OF THEM HAVE LOW TAXES AND ALOT OF MONEY AND JOBS AREN'T BEING CREATED BUT GIVE IT TIME!!"
Really?

No, he has stopped the wild spending of the Democrats, which about all he can do,since the Democrats still control the Senate and White House, his job is to hang on to America until reinforcements can arrive in 2013 to crush the evil and wickedness of the liberal hordes
