I was just following orders was soundly rejected at Nuremberg --Does America still reject this rationalization of torture and other such war crimes ?

I was just following orders --- we hated that weak willed rationalization from a monster and his minions when we heard it from the Nazis

Do the Americans still reject this reasoning ?

Or is it OK for the CIA and others to be guilty of war crimes as long as they were following orders ?

It is only rejected when it applies to others. That is the American way... everything we do is correct.

No, it would not be ok for the CIA and others if they were guilty of war crimes.

However, in America we have innocent until proven guilty.

What evidence do we have of torture and such war crimes?

We did interrogations (including water boarding), but that is not the same as torture.

Water boarding can be torture, but is not automatically torture.

Is it automatically torture to deprive someone of food for 5 hours? 10 hours? A full day?

There are lines between torture and interrogation.

Those guilty of war crimes are being tried. There is no evidence showing any torture was actually carried out by the US.

Splashing water does not meet the criteria for torture.

Oh no - in this modern age of Georgie and Dicky - we don't care anymore about anybody's rights. Torture and murder are the rule of the road - and nobody will ever serve a day in prison for it.

Even Obama has been forced into covering for these pieces of human garbage who tortured people in the US concentration camps.... Add to that murder and rape.....

...in violation to everything this country has ever stood for.

We're too weak now to uphold our own laws....

America is a land of hypocrites. It only wrong if it is done by others, and right if its done by Americans. Go figure. I think there is a word for that, oh yes, Bigot.
