Question:
Hillary is keeping Government Documents that are unflattering to her sealed until AFTER the election-thoughts?
2007-08-14 22:20:37 UTC
Why do the Democrats complain when sensitive WAR documents are not released yet are silent on Hillary's White House records? Will we find even more skeletons in her closet?

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton cites her experience as a compelling reason voters should make her president, but nearly 2 million pages of documents covering her White House years are locked up in a building here, obscuring a large swath of her record as first lady.

Clinton's calendars, appointment logs and memos are stored at her husband's presidential library, in the custody of federal archivists who do not expect them to be released until after the 2008 presidential election.

Just in case someone doesn't take the time to look up your link, this is what the article REALLY says:

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton cites her experience as a compelling reason voters should make her president, but nearly 2 million pages of documents covering her White House years are locked up in a building here, obscuring a large swath of her record as first lady.

Clinton's calendars, appointment logs and memos are stored at her husband's presidential library, in the custody of federal archivists who do not expect them to be released until after the 2008 presidential election.

A trove of records has been made public detailing the Clinton White House's attempts to remake the nation's healthcare system, following a request from Bill Clinton that those materials be released first. Hillary Clinton led the healthcare effort in 1993 and 1994.

But even in the healthcare documents, at least 1,000 pages involving her work has been censored by archives staff because they include confidential advice and must be kept secret under a federal law called the Presidential Records Act. Political consultants said that if Hillary Clinton's records were made public, rivals would mine them for scraps of information that might rattle her campaign.

"Those files -- that's the mother lode of opposition research," said Ray McNally, a Republican political consultant in Sacramento. "Opposition researchers would be very hungry to see what's there." Robert Shrum, senior political strategist in Democratic Sen. John F. Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign, said: "In 2 million pieces of paper, would opposition researchers hope to find one where she wrote a memo saying, 'I wish I'd never gotten involved in healthcare?' Sure. That's what they'd love to find."

No where does that say that Hillary has locked up documents to keep her image in good shape. What it really says is that the "opposition" to Hillary would scour those millions of pages looking for "dirt". What kind of scumbags do that????

It also states that these records are being kept under wraps because of a FEDERAL LAW! Do you suggest breaking that law? I guess you would, seeing as the leader you follow so blindly has no respect for Federal Law or the Constitution!

EDIT: Look at all the people who are ready to condemn Hillary, without reading or understanding the article. FEDERAL LAW, FEDERAL LAW!!!!! NOT Hillary herself.

Bet they feel "crunchy" now.....

First off, it's federal law. But, all candidates have something to hide, things they don't want to discuss and hope will escape the media. Sen. Clinton is in the unique position of having been First Lady, which puts her squarely in a more difficult spotlight. We won't hear much about documents, or journals, or letters that the other candidates would prefer not be public. We won't hear about it because they haven't been preserved in a Presidential library. They're in locked filing cabinets, safes, and on computer disks. Do you really think that she's the only one with something she'd rather not talk about? If you do, you better take a longer look at Fred Thompson. He doesn't want to have to explain himself about ANYTHING to do with his past. He thinks he's above all that for some strange reason.

I have to echo another poster's sentiments. Why are you so obsessed with smearing the Clintons?

Obama's gotta love this. He HAS no record to pass returned and seem at. The "inheritor to the JFK Legacy" ...good All you like is a stable speech author and the transport of a televangelist. remember- that Rezko is going to trial around Feb 25 - and specific unnamed Illinois officers have been reported who did favors for Rezko - Chicago Tribune, insinuating that its Obama...we've been accomplished a disservice by potential of the clicking and Obama himself for no longer vetting his candidacy till it incredibly is too late- Clinton's data will coach that she did voluminously greater desirable than Obama has accomplished in his lifetime.

According to your own source the law says they must be kept sealed - not Hillary

" must be kept secret under a federal law called the Presidential Records Act"

Then again it is not like any of you previous anti Hillary smearing has had any basis in fact either.
GO HILLARY

Sorting through 2 million pages is a daunting task, I am sure Hillary is insisting they get the information out ASAP.

Hillary Clinton has long devoted a great deal of her energy to remaking the story of her life. Keeping factual information out of the hands of the press and the public is the foundation of these efforts.

As an example, she went to a lot of trouble to ensure that her alma mater, Wellesley, would keep her senior college thesis under wraps. This thesis was on the leftist organizer Saul Alinsky and how to change the American political culture. This thesis was written in the same time frame during which she was working in Oakland, CA for the law firm of the American Communist Robert Treuhaft and his British Communist wife, Jessica Mitford.

I've no doubt that Mrs. Clinton had at that time very far-left beliefs and that she's not fundamentally changed her political views. As you'll recall, Communist successes were invariably achieved after an all-out effort to gain power by any means necessary. While it's a bit tamer in this country, Hillary Clinton has made it perfectly clear in her statements and her actions that she wants power - and she has demonstrated her willingness to do what's necessary to achieve it. By remaining married to Bill Clinton and, by all accounts, being a very good Senator representing NY, I believe she's demonstrated an extraordinary devotion to gaining the most powerful post in our country.

Except for her ill-fated 1993 attempt to gain control over our nation's healthcare system, she's never made it crystal clear exactly what she intends to do with that power. Thank God for the checks and balances we have in this country because if she does become President (I should say "if she and Bill become President again") we'll finally see just what she intends for us.

Evidently you didn't actually read the LA Times article. It clearly states (as you so conveniently didn't point out) that FEDERAL (as in, they work for George W. Bush) archivists themselves redacted information due to the Presidential Records Act. In other words, you framed the question in a way that would make it appear that Clinton herself is behind it, but in fact, she has no control over it, and on top of all that, the archivists have yet to release documents that the CLINTONS THEMSELVES have asked to be released. Again, its all right there in the article. The federal archivists themselves are the ones who are refusing to release documents and don't estimate they'll be ready for realease anytime soon. The federal archivists are employees of the United States government, not employees of the Clintons.

I think she is taking a Q from the current president!!! Who had his records from his time as a governor in Texas SEALED.

Good question. Now if we could only find Bush's Air National Guard records...

Hillary sold her soul for power and that's all I really need to know.

Hidden Government Documents wouldn't mean a thing

They would only reinforce my belief of what I already know.

If I were her I'd be shaking in my boots because you can't make a deal with the devil and expect him to live up to his part of the bargain.

After all he is the Father of all lies.

I will make you a deal, let W release his papers from his daddy presidential library when he was Governor of Texas, and then have Cheney release his private meeting with the energy task force especially the meeting with Enron, and then we will have Hillary release her records

Typical Clinton move...But isn't it amazing how some still manage to bring up Bush... Did Bush hide his gubernatorial records? And of course we know he did not.... Yet they still cry like little girls....... "Things that make you go hmm"
2007-08-14 22:24:32 UTC
yeah, she is a complete fraud. SURPRISE!

Of course, she is open about her corruption. The democrats don't care because they are complete hypocites, just like most politicians. By the way, that sounds just like something Bush would do. You can't accept corruption on your side and expect the other side to be squeaky clean. Be an independent conservative, not blindly following the Republican party while they lead you down the toilet. They are all a bunch of crooks.

DEMAND PAPER BALLOTS SO THAT SHE CAN'T STEAL THE ELECTION.

Sorry libs, your girl won't make it...we will see in 08. And it has nothing to do with sealed documents.....who cares about that. She is doing just fine - by slimming her own chances!

i think as a former first lady she is entitled to executive privilege during the time bill was in office

Typical, predictable Clinton move. You can be sure they are being kept sealed because they would secure her defeat. Sadly, when I heard this it didn't surprise me, but all those scandals came flooding back to me. Why can't people see who she is? She doesn't want you to know until it is too late.
2007-08-14 22:24:32 UTC
tell me what we don't know about her or couldn't find out if we wanted to. your computer is probably like an archive of every bad act by the Clintons

I lived through that State Dept. I don't really need documents to tell me that the Clinton's' were UN-flattering, poor Al Gore!
2007-08-14 22:34:06 UTC
so... you're saying you want her to break federal law?

that's what your story says... archive staff wouldn't release it... according to federal law?
2007-08-14 22:24:18 UTC
You mean until after she is elected???

Deja vu....... is it 2000 again!!!!!!

All your questions are about Democratic nominees and it appears that you are trying to smear them, I also read that you are going to campaign against get Russ Feingold to get him out, (why I can't imagine because he is doing a great job) you must be really worried about the 2008 election turning out like the 2006 election!!!!!!
2007-08-14 22:31:35 UTC
One more reason not to vote for the Hildabeast. Remember - she was part of the "most ethical administration ever" - as she and Bill tell it. How many FBI files did they have - hundreds? This must be another "vast right wing conspiracy".
