Why do liberals attack the legacy of the great Senator, Joseph McCarthy?

During the 1950's America faced a grave threat. Communists were infiltrating America at every level - the media, the government, Hollywood, and so forth. The great Senator McCarthy pursued these communists and exposed them. As head of the Council of Un-American Activities, he exposed thousands of communists living in America. In the state department alone, he exposed 205 communists that were working there.

Liberals like to claim that McCarthy pursued a witch hunt. They claim he had little or no evidence of his accusations.

McCarthy was an American hero who saved America by exposing these communists in America. Every time one of us conservatives calls someone a communist, like Obama or any other liberal for example, they bring up "McCarthyism".

McCarthy was the greatest Senator in American history and he rightfully pursued thousands of communists living in America with his investigations in the Senate. Why do liberals try to attack the legacy of this great Senator?

Liberals attack McCarthy's legacy, because liberals are Communists themselves.

America had so many Communists in Government, Hollywood, Public Schools, Colleges, and so many other aspects of society, that America was on the verge of collapsing and becoming part of the Soviet Bloc.

McCarthy is an American war hero and vigilante that confronted these heathens that were infiltrating our society.

I want to know who the current Joseph McCarthy will be that will confront the Muslim threat and the Sharia Law that is creeping in to every aspect of our lives here in America. I'm guessing that will be Herman Cain.

Because they are pro communist, Joseph McCarthy was proved to be right in his allegations in regards to the communist infiltration of our country

Of all the people McCarthy "exposed" as communists, not a single one of them actually were. If you're going to call someone great, shouldn't they have actually done something that didn't destroy innocent lives?

He based his accusation on nothing more then whims. What does that tell you?
