Question:
Should Scottish politicians vote on the Student Fees proposal ?
2010-12-05 15:02:26 UTC
Students from Scotland and Whales will have free university education - it surely can not be right for Scotland based MPs voting on the Student Fees bill next Thursday - yet another unacceptable procedure in our so called democracy.
ITS SO OBVIOUSLY WRONG - SO WHY IS IT ALLOWED ???

To be honest with the questioner. This is one area in politics that needs urgent attention.

Scottish Members of Parliament in Scottish constituencies should abstain.

The questioner has raised a valid point here.

No. Their students are involved in any of the lies being told about the students fees being increased. Besides to our politicians these people are deserving of a free education while those of us who have children and live in England are not. Sort of the same story with all our politicians making the cuts and raising the students fees. The politicians deserved a free education while our children obviously don't as far as the MPs are concerned. Besides it would mean less money in the government coffers for them to fiddle if they didn't raise student fees.

No matter what you think. It doesn't matter that they lied to you about it to get elected. Your only goal in life is to be there to work and pay out and do whatever your Lords and Masters want. You don't even have a right to breathe if they say you don't. What made you think any different? After all you don't have a lot of money unlike them who nicked it all from you and your labour in the first place. It is also all Labours fault when they were in government as well didn't you know. The Tory's made education free for all but it was Labours fault as the Tory's aren't ever wrong about anything. Don't you listen when they lie to you? Shame on you.

Should a right wing newspaper sh1t stir, what is the motivation of the newspaper, what is my view?

The devolution of Wales and Scotland was, primarily, to facilitate the NI Assembly so it has teeth and is proven to have, what we need are sensible, emotion free, resolutions, business funding university through sponsorship and apprentice schemes, the potential employees who will benefit being tied into a little more robust emoloyment contract and National Insurance contributions to buy employees out of trouble for the sake of fairness, but with best business practise and competent government these issues are minor, a peace dividend is the most important issue so I'm okay with the disparity between regions so long as strong lobbying, to prevent Wales and Scotland taking the wee wee, in British Parliament is assured. I hope we all see ourselves as British first and keep considering others, the right wing press argue for the opposite in the name of their own fanatical self want, childish, almost (if not actually) nazi, for those with a longer memory than myself.

Because Scotland is currently not independent from Whitehall Government. This is the West Lothian question and it crops up again and again. It ain't right, it ain't fair and it ain't gonna change any time soon.

Best you can hope for is Scotland being given independence from the Union. The SNP are not likely to get their act together enough to get Scots to demand independence, so The English must enact it on them.

Of course they should. Let me ask you this. Should English MPs be allowed to vote for cuts on Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland?

You're trying to pin jelly to a wall.

DEmo-cra-cee, a small little word but so generic in it's structure. A word used with great abandon yet we all baulk when it doesn't go our way. Are you more worried about what's allowed or what you don't want allowed? people people people, lets not jerk off here. Democracy is a wonderful thing as long as niggas don't have the right to vote. If they wear kilts even better!
