The petition is real. It actually reads like this:

On Behalf of the People of the United States of America, the undersigned Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth and affiliates hereby petition for, and demand, a truly independent investigation with subpoena power in order to uncover the full truth surrounding the events of 9/11/01 – specifically the collapse of the World Trade Center Towers and Building 7. We believe there is sufficient doubt about the official story to justify re-opening the 9/11 investigation. The new investigation must include a full inquiry into the possible use of explosives that might have been the actual cause of the destruction of the World Trade Center Twin Towers and Building 7.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

Of course there are a few problems...

Firstly, this petition was started the release of NCSTAR 1-9 that includes an investigation into a "Hypothetical Blast Scenarios".(Appendix D), therefore it would seem Richard Gage's request has been fulfilled, yet he keeps plugging away at it, begging for new donations and selling DVD's and "Activist Packs" while he ignores the findings of NCSTAR 1-9.

Secondly, 1,700 is a pathetic number of signatures to collect over 6 years. Even though signatures are collected worldwide if we compare that to the number of relevant professionals just in the U.S. 1,700 works out to something like 0.025%. The rate at which new names are being added is pathetic as well. I believe it is less than 10 this year so far, which means people who have already signed either have no influence in the professional community or are unable to convince their colleagues and peers to sign as well.

Additionally, in order to widen the pool and get more signatures ae911truth has had to lower standards. Landscape architects, mechanical engineers and professors now make up a substantial portion of the list in addition to a large number of retirees who no longer practice.

One final note: Take a poll of average citizens on just about any topic and include a batsh!t crazy option in the poll options. You would expect 2-3% if not more to vote for the batsh!t fringe option. So there are far less supporting 9/11 so called truth than would support the extreme nut case version of just about any other topic you could name.

The words "EPIC FAIL" come to mind....

If I was a truther I'd be just plain embarrassed....

Since I'm not a truther I'm amused by it instead

Yet truthers whip this out all the time as if this number is somehow meaningful, use it as an arguement from authority and make wild unsubstantiated claims for what the signators have supposedly claimed. All they have done is signed a petition asking for a new investigation. That's it. And since so many signers are either retired, work as professors (ie: have tenure) or work outside of really relevant fields they have risked nothing to sign it.

No. no longer needed. The "unanswered questions" of 9/eleven are no longer important adequate to warrant some finished new examine. all of us be conscious of who did it, how they did it, and why. while you're pertaining to the NIST engineering comments because of the fact the "questionable comments" i'm curious precisely what those questions are? The NIST at the instant are supported via over one hundred self sustaining papers printed in peer reviewed engineering and physics journals. people who declare the NIST have have been given it incorrect have printed 0 papers in 0 peer reviewed journals. clever, severe investigators take their artwork to clever severe audiences. the main clever audiences that they are able to looking. severe investigators try this as a fashion to get severe comments. And to convey different severe investigators into the controversy. the individuals calling for a clean investigatoin (Gage, Harrit, Jones, Griffin, etc) have not accomplished something of the variety. They placed up video's on Youtube and present day their information to un-serious crowds at 9/eleven Truther conferences and conventions. Their stated undertaking is to income respectability for their theories and the appropriate thank you to do it fairly is publishing careful artwork in peer-reviewed authentic notch engineering journals. yet they do no longer even difficulty. they have no longer something. In 10 years. those all of us is to no longer be taken heavily.

Yeah, it is.

Look at what you linked to. They can't just ignore eyewitness testimony that is well documented and expect to be taken seriously.

The website claims:

"WTC7 exhibited none of the characteristics of destruction by fire:

Slow onset with large visible deformations"

But at 2 pm, NYPD firefighters saw a bulge forming in the SW corner of WTC7 and heard the building creaking. An hour an a half later they suspended search and rescue in and around the building.

The firefighters knew from seeing that damage that the building was going to collapse, which it did a little over 3 hours later.

Your source also cites "Foreknowledge of "collapse" by media, NYPD, FDNY" as evidence that there was a controlled demolition. Yeah -- they saw the warning signs.

Why does a controlled demolition cause the building to start showing signs of collapse hours before it actually does?

Best guess!

Yes and Yes.

The organization also looks like a bunko game. A criminal organization designed to separate the stupid and gullible from their money by fraudulent means. Everybody loves a good conspiracy theory.

It is unpatriotic and racist to question ANYTHING the central government tells us.
