Question:
my question is simple, why does Faux call themselves a News Channel?

while surfing through the news channels this morning i stopped at Faux news (mostly for giggles) and sure enough they weren't reporting on news. they were telling me how to decorate my christmas tree, the shrubs in front of my house, how to wrap up the lights when the Xmas season is over, etc. after about 10 minutes or so they went into a 10 minute spiel about hollywood movie stars and the latest gossip. mind you, this is 1 day after a presumed "terrorist" attack on a Texas military base. many other news channels are using today for mourning, prayer and actual giving the latest bulletins on today's "news".

To save yourself further angst, I suggest you avoid looking at Fox News. Like any other station they also offer "fluff" segments, which some people mistakenly think is being reported as news. Hollywood move stars are of great interest to those who voted for Obama especially as many of them support him. There are a lot of compassionate Americans who are distraught about the massacre at Fort Hood. There is nothing upbeat on the news right now and we face a wall of darkness on a daily basis. You said yourself the segment was "a 10 minute spiel." There are 24 hours in a day, so what is Fox saying the other 23 hours and 50 minutes?

You got the spelling wrong. It is Fox News, not "Faux" News.

I also don't see how Fox News is any more biased than MSNBC.

Yes, the standards of journalism are very low across the American "mainstream" media. However, Fox has at least as much claim to being news as MSNBC and CNN.

Just because Fox News tends to lean toward the Republicans and you happen to be a Democrat does not mean that they are not news.

FOX news is a Republican news source so it says what they are interested in. They are against abortion and want to make a law that everyone has to call a evergreen tree a Christmas tree and hate gays.

But love the money making health insurance industry and wants to keep them rich. They like war and killing thousands doesn't bother them as long as we decorate and call evergreens christmas trees.

Take lots of expensive medicines to keep the pharmaceutical companies rich. So they are playing down the terrorist in Texas.

But decorate your shrubs for the holidays.

I watched it this morning too. I didn't see your so-called story about decorating but I did see a story about Fort Hood. So, I guess if you hold Fox News just to report the news, then you better be writing CNN b/c they do non-news too.

it is a three hour morning news show. much like matt lauer and his crew on nbc. i started watching at 7 this morning and the ft hood story was the headline, then there was a story about the USS New York and their commissioning today. then a story about barney frank being in the home of a "friend" when his friend was arrested for simple possession. the show is fox and friends. hate on hater.

With all the money spent to get that DR. in front of the name, you would think misspelling FOX would not be an issue--but when you spend your entire education in Govt Indoctrination Camps--this is what you get, even from a DR--and we want Health Care from these guys--NEVER!

Fox is still the only news media station telling the truth. Others are simply hiding the truth. Obama is getting scared of Fox
